Just spent 7 nights at Bazaruto with three friends on a trip that was expertly oragnised by Imagine Africa. Just a quick note on Imagine Africa, I would highly recommend their services if you are looking to plan a seamless, hassle free trip. They recommended this resort for our group and it ended up being exactly what we wanted. Now...

great accomodation, amazing beach, great food! staff was super helpful and kind and there's a choice of acticities to entertain all the way from diving to fishing and boat cruises. not the best wine on offer so bring your own if you fancy a good bottle! the place is more on the quiet spectrum of holidays so make sure you're...

Let's admit it: getting to Bazaruto is not the easiest (or cheapest) of tasks. You can either fly in from Vilankulo, which for us turned out to be the cheapest option (about USD 320 pp for a return trip), or take a boat, which is even more expensive and takes way longer. Thus, flying it was, and let's put it...

We have just spent 5 nights at this resort. Overall we were very happy with our stay. Firstly the flight transfer was very good and gives an absolutely beautiful perspective of the Bazaruto archipeligo. The resort is basic best described as rustic, but very comfortable and clean. The accommodation was very nice and well presented. Don't expect a 5 star...

We returned to Bazaruto lodge for our 35th wedding anniversary in mid-July 2014. We also visited previously in May 2013, and on the basis of that experience, we were "enticed" back. We spent 7 nights on the island, and what a wonderful experience. The tranquility of the place is such that you cannot help but just to relax from the...

Bazaruto is simply gorgeous which is why we feel Pestana gets a rather bad wrap in this review. The good stuff... Food was decent and better than represented in reviews I have read. I asked the chef on one occasion for a slight change than what the menu offered and they had no problems with it at all. As part...

Unique out of Africa experience. The hotel is on the upper North beach on the corner of the Island. The location is fantastic. What you getting is an AFRICAN Island experience. It's remote, and you get what nature left for you, how the location looked even hundreds of years ago. This is not designed as a posh grand experience. If...

We have made several trips to Bazaruto Lodge and the reason we keep going back is simple- the setting and the warm welcome by the staff. As a Christmas Vacation destination to relax it was fantastic. Short flight to the Island in an old propeller plane and 'tractored' to the hotel from the airstrip - felt exotic! Chalets are first class, comfortable and right by the water, though when the tide goes out you're left wit a large expanse of muddy beach. When the tide is...

The flight to the island is an experience in its own right, set right on the beach but be aware the water is so shallow at the hotel you cannot swim. The hotel will drive you to dolphins bay which is an absolutely beautiful beach nearby and I would recommend a visit. The hotel will fill up a cooler full...
