We recently stayed at The Harbor House before and after a cruise out of Manhattan. Although we arrived later than expected, we were greeted warmly by Moe. He was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us suggestions for our meals when we returned. He helped us plan our route out of Statin Island back to I-81 using a better...

I recently spent several months on staten island working on the clean -up crew during the aftermath of hurricane Sandy. I bounced around from hotel to motel for a few weeks before I stumbled across the Harbor House. I fell in love with the place...the view of the city... the wind on the ocean....The giant ships waiting to head out...

My husband and I stayed at Harbor House during a recent trip to NYC. Moe was an extremely hospitable host. Each room is unique and clean. The view of the New York skyline is priceless. We will definitely be back every time we visit our daughter and her family. Keep the light on for your favorite couple from Pittsburgh Moe!

Excellent experience on short trip 1-4 November, and managers Moe and Karima were very helpful before and during stay (quick to confirm details by email - very important - helpful on phone, and stayed late for arrival at midnight after delayed flight). All good, from room to breakfast, plus great views and the free daily cruise known as the Staten...

Last year (2012), we stayed at Harbor House and had another great stay. That was the week before Hurricane Sandy struck the East Coast of the U.S. and wreaked havoc. Staten Island was pretty hard hit. I remember seeing video of a boat that had been dumped on shore by Sandy and recognized the location as maybe a half mile...

Stop searching for other accommodations! This bed and breakfast on the river is divine! I only stayed 3 nights, but I seriously fell in love with the Harbor House! The Victorian-styled rooms are comfortable and warm with fresh linens and towels, the bathrooms well lit and clean, and did I mention the delightful breakfasts in the parlor overlooking the Hudson...

The manager is super helpful in giving tips of how to get around the city. You won't find a better deal this close to the city. And the view? Amazing. Right on the water's edge. Hot showers with excellent water pressure. I've stayed in places twice this prize in much smaller towns. Thanks Mo!

I've stayed here before and the new owner really did a fantastic job upgrading the place! It is really beautiful. This is the perfect spot for unbelievable views of the NYC Skyline. The price can't be beat. The owner was friendly as always and made me feel at home. I would DEFINITELY keep staying here!

We are located on the New York Harbor with a stunning view of the Manhattan Skyline as well as the Verrazano Bridge. The NYC marathon starts at the base of the Verrazano Bridge on the Staten Island. It is a 15 minute walk from the Harbor House Bed and Breakfast to the starting line of the race. There is a bus (the S 51)one block away that stops at the St. George Ferry Terminal. You can ride the ferry for free and arrive in downtown Manhattan in 20 minutes. It is a short walk to Ground Zero from there. ... more   less
