STAY AWAY! This place was shabby beyond belief and did not live up to any of their advertising. We were entirely taken in and it cost a bundle to stay! It was filthy, the carpets were full of dog hair and foul odors. The food was disgusting and inedible. The room was so dirty that it looked like it hadn't...

My wife and I had been to Gold Mountain about 12 years ago. It was rustic, but quite charming and clean, the food (which is no longer provided) was good and we had a great time with our puppy at the time. Well, we just adopted another puppy and thought, what a great "Pet Friendly" place to go with our...

My husband and I went for our anniversary. As has been said here, the photos looked lovely. It seemed like the perfect weekend getaway - cozy and romantic. Instead, we were met with frightening and filthy. The flies, the mold, the age, how decrepit the place was, it's all been said here before. I wasn't expecting the Ritz-Carlton, but a...

This property was doubtless amazing in the early 70's. Our unit had a 4 foot deep hot tub, a 'see-through-to-the-livingroom' (think kitchen passthrough) master bedroom and 70's style carpet. Also doubtless, nothing has been changed or renovated (read: maintained) since then. Our unit had three holes in the walls, the grass was overgrown, parking was on a quite steep hill...

We had stayed here in the late 80's, had a great, pet friendly stay. We came up here, expecting the same, we stayed less then one night, it was so horrific! The chalet we were in had a hole in the door, the food that was provided was congeelled mess, it was terrible. For thos who stayed here at the...

My husband and I were looking for a pet friendly place to spend a long relaxing Fall weekend. The pictures on the Internet of the Gold Mountain Chalets looked very nice, so we booked the weekend. What we found when we arrived didn't even come close to the pictures on the web site. The place was completely run down and...

If you are going to Gold Mountain expecting to find a four or five star rated resort, don't go. You will be disappointed. Expectations matter, and that is not what Gold Mountain is about. If you like daytime hikes or other outdoor activities in the nearby State Parks, enjoy falling asleep under a truly starlit sky (No urban light pollution...

We stayed here 25 yrs ago on our honeymoon. It was beautiful. The Chalet we stayed in was gorgeous. We had a wonderful time. It was everything we expected and more. We vowed to return on our 25th wedding anniversary. When they say "You can never go back"....It is so very true! This is not the Gold Mountain we stayed...

The place is old, but it has charm and it's not overly crowded. We have stayed there a number of times and have had friends along with us, and they loved it too! The views are beautiful, our rooms were always clean and the staff very nice...we have even enjoyed the indoor pool. It is a pet friendly place which...
