I wanted a quick lunch after visiting Shelter Island. This place had a $18 hambuger on the menu and had to pass and go over to the Drug Store counter for a great resonable lunch. Why are they so expensive here?

It's located just in front of the beach, an orange tune hotel matches perfectly with the sunset view. The restaurant of the hotel I'd nice too.

If you want a short break from NYC this is a good option. It is an upscale motel attached to a bar. Great views of the bay. The bar is a big scene but you an avoid it. The beach is very relaxing. The rooms are clean and very minimalist European. The bathrooms however are horrible. Couldn't be tinier. Sink...

I was on an anniversary trip with my boyrfriend and wanted to stop for a bit of lunch. As soon as we arrived I started to realise what sort of place this was. The "hostess" didn't even look us in the eye as she asked us smirking "if she could help us". We ended up only staying for a drink...

We did not actually stay here, but we came for lunch one boiling hot July day. The first thing you notice is the view: a sandy beach streches out gently into the sea, which is populated by green islands and very expensive-looking enormous white yatchs. The second feature which strikes you is the informal, but chic atmosphere and decor -...

My Fiancée and I had a truly memorable weekend at this well appointed hotel. Stylish, sexy and smart, Andre Balazs et al have unlocked the secret of what makes a european beach vacation so appealing and parked it right on the end of long island new york ... quite a feat. Preppie locals and their disdain for 'showey money' be...

Sunset Beach isn't a hotel in the conventional sense. It's better understood as a hip motel conversion attached to a beachside bar and restaurant - the Shelter Island offspring of the Ace in Palm Springs and La Voile Rouge in St Tropez. And it's best enjoyed in that same combination. What works: a stunning bar and restaurant overlooking the bay...

If you're searching for somewhere 'achingly hip' to stay and by that you mean 'poor service from snooty students, tiny substandard bathrooms and a complete lack of attention to detail', this place is for you. We had the first night of our honeymoon here and I'm glad we weren't staying longer. In spite of the advertised check-in time of 4pm...

Nevermind the naysayers. The hotel was perfect for a romantic getaway. We were not there for the "scene" so I cannot speak to that. The bed had wonderdful linens and the (mostly) private deck was fabulous. The location is incredible and you really do feel like you are on the Cote d'Azur. Yes it is somewhat pricey....have you stayed in...

This review is more concerned with bar/restaurant which really is at least 50% of anyones experience here. I have stayed here for a long weekend for the last 5 years. It was my favourite hotel. I suspect they're too cool and unbothered to read this but I had to write something as its shame to have seen something so great...
