Definitely plan this visit around the tide. We did not stay here but enjoyed the walk out to the light house. We arrived after high tide and everything was still quite muddy. If you can, plan on arriving before the tide as it does take awhile to subside. I had to wait on a portion of the trail until it...

We had wanted to stay in the lighthouse for years and my partner surprised me with a 3 night break for my birthday. He'd had to book it a year in advance! The room and the lighthouse are spectacular, but beware it can get quite cold at night even in spring. The lighthouse keeper was happy to light the coal...

We visited in winter with my wife. Did not get to stay (inn was closed) but definitely was worth the visit. The river was frozen which added to the stunning beauty of a location which feels very different to anything I've experienced in the NY state. Really would have enjoyed to visit in summer and stay for the night!

What a great place to visit / Through the town to a parking lot next to the Coast Guard station in Saugerties The walki to the lighthouse was on a beautiful path so relaxing and I could imagine children thinking they were on an adventure to find a secret lighthouse. I would guess the walk was about 1/2 mile long...

My partner took me here as part of a surprise date. We did not stay overnight. We viewed the grounds and then ventured off through town to find a location that would give us other angles to view it from. The lighthouse and its surrounding area is beautiful. The hike to get to it was very easy. I'm so glad...

Saugerties is a nice place to spend the afternoon browsing all the shops, taking in a good meal, and checking out this lighthouse. The lighthouse is easy to get to, a nice easy walk through some foliage, and if you get there just before sunset, it's a nice scene.

fun place to visit and stay overnight. i was expecting it to be kind of creepy but the river was frozen over and the lighthouse isn't quite in the middle of the water and isolated as i thought it was, and you can see lights from the area homes at night. the lighthouse seems to be a popular destination for...

The waiting list for this unique B & B set in the marshes of the Hudson was one year. A very small, once lighthouse, now an historic location, offering an experience you will not forget. Meals, other than breakfast are not supplied, so be prepared. Also services are minimal, whilst comfortable, you are not here for luxury, but rather a...

What an interesting B & B! Anyone who appreciates history and lighthouses coupled with "taking a step back in time" would enjoy staying the night here. Innkeepers Patrick & Anna were very helpful and most cordial. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were kept very warm with coal burning cast iron heaters despite the freezing temps outside. River views were most unusual...

We had an amazing time at the lighthouse! We were looking for a unique place to stay in the Hudson Valley and happened to spot a review of the lighthouse with bed and breakfast on tripadvisor. We couldnt have asked for a better experience. It was unforgettable. A short walk out to the lighthouse and you are transported back in...
