Before the 20th century people went to Saranac Lake for treatment of tuburculousis. The wealthy would build fabulous homes there to allow their ill relatives to recover the healthy outdoor weather. One such home has become the Porcupine Inn and while it no longer is a place to rid onself of the consumption it has become a place to rid...

I don't usually write reviews but I felt compelled to do so here. The Porcupine is a fantastic weekend getaway for us. I am based in Montreal and it only took us 2 hrs. to get here. Anthony and Andrea were perfect hosts. From the bedside cookies to the presentation of food at breakfast. The whole experience was first class....

From the fireplace, to the outdoor hot tub.....from the pool table and homemade choc chip cookies....we loved our stay at the Porcupine. A great retreat. Delicious breakfast and the accomadations were excellent. Exceeded our expectations. We want to bring our friends and family next time. Very quaint, personal and the decor leaves you with an cozy country experience.

The three breakfasts we had were well-practiced and flawless, and constituted the best fare we had during our vacation, Lumiere not withstanding. On Saturday, we had some upscale Eggs Benedict, with smoked ham and sauteed spinach. On Sunday, Belgian waffles with whipped cream, carmelized apples, strawberries, with a dusting of powdered sugar and toasted almonds. For the third morning, omlettes...

The Purcupine is exactly what you imagine when you think of a B&B in the Adirondacks. Cozy, romantic, friendly, and beautifully decorated in great detail with local art and rustic furniture. The couple who run the B&B are just delightful. The are extremely helpful with directions and/or making any reservations or recommendations for activities in the area. Breakfast was excellent;...

Andrea and Anthony are exceptional!!! They have great decorative style that fits the Adirondack region but could be transported anywhere and still look great!!! They have exceptional culinary skills and are very hospitable. This was our first B&B. We only stayed one night but we're planning on going back. In fact, we just convinced other family members to go back...

We've been to B&Bs all over the country and must say that the Porcupine is the best we've encountered. Andrea and Anthony are the perfect hosts and make you feel right at home the moment you enter. The Inn is in amazing condition and the decor is wonderful. The billiard room and bar are fantastic and the hot tub is...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Porcupine Inn. We seldom return to an inn only because we like to experience new places and meet new people. The Porcupine Inn is a place you will want to return to! The rooms were beautifully and tastefully furnished while also being extremely comfortable. The common rooms were comfortable and inviting. The owner,...

I don't normally do this, but I felt I need to share the word on our experience. Our group of four couples decided to take a trip up to The Adirondacks for a three day weekend before the madness of the holidays. We couldn't have selected a better place than The Porcupine Lodge in Lake Saranac to use as our...
