We stayed for one night while visiting our son at Bard. We arrived earlier than expected and Beth was so accommodating. The house was beautiful, and I loved the interesting things the owners have collected over the years. It doesn't look like a Victorian museum like some B&Bs, and I prefer it that way. It feels more like a home,...

Connie S. wrote "Our room had no air conditioner" and she stated that she stayed on June 21st of this year. I know for a fact that every guest room at The Grand Dutchess gets an air conditioner put in during the month of May. She also clearly does not understand how much time and money it requires to maintain...

Our stay at the Grand Dutchess totaled 9 days, over 11 days. It was our best B &B stay EVER! The Grand Dutchess is one fine lady! Everything, the staff, the rooms, the breakfasts, the location, was great. I've read all of the reviews posted and can only conclude that the negative ones were totally unfounded. I can only assume...

We spent a lovely weekend at The Grand Dutchess. We stayed in Carol's Suite on the third floor. It was spotlessly clean, with an A/C and ceiling fan. The innkeeper, Gemma, couldn't have been more accommodating and she is a wonderful cook. The B&B is unpretentious and cozy, quiet and private. I was concerned when I read some of the...

I will begin with the positives. The owner is very anxious to please and helpful. The inside of the Inn Is very clean, there is ample parking, and the location is great. It is an easy walk into the village and to the shops and restaurants. However, the Inn itself, is shabby and needs a lot of repairs. The wide...

The Grand Dutchess was a grand disappointment. This Inn needs a good cleaning, paint job, and repair. When we walked up on the porch there was broken wicker furniture and a dirty kitchen broom. When we entered the Inn we were appalled by the clutter of knick knacks and junk piled everywhere. We often stay at Victorian Inns and know...

I can't commend the innkeepers at the Grand Dutchess highly enough. I came down with a stomach bug during my stay. I was traveling alone and they really took care of me, bringing me chicken stock, rice and bananas throughout the day and evening. Even before I became ill, I found them very accommodating with my diet preferences, late arrival...

We had planned to stay at The Grand Dutchess for three nights but checked out after one night and one night was one too many. We were informed that the key given to us was for the front door only as the guest rooms did not lock. How is that acceptable for anyone traveling alone or with valuables? The owner...

My husband and I recently stayed at the Inn with friends that we frequently travel with. We love to stay at B&B's to get a real flavor of the area, and have always met such lovely people. Although the town of Redhook is delightful, our stay at the Inn was so "disappointing " that I felt compelled to write a...

I stayed at the Grand Dutchess B&B for two nights in early July 2011 and had a wonderful experience. I am shocked by some of the reviews that say that the house was 'cluttered, dusty, bad service, etc' because I did not have any of those issues. In fact, the owner was a delight, very friendly; my room was very...
