Agali Houses is an excellent choice for travelers visiting Firostefani, offering a romantic setting as well as many useful amenities to facilitate your stay. As your “home away from home,” the small hotel rooms offer a flat screen TV, air conditioning, and a refrigerator, and getting online is easy, with free wifi available to guests. There is a rooftop terrace for guests, a front desk, and beach chairs for guests staying at Agali Houses Hotel. In addition, Agali Houses Hotel has a pool area and a bar, if that makes your stay in Firostefani easier. It is also handy that there is free public parking available nearby for guests. While you're here, you may want to check out some of the seafood restaurants, including Pirouni, Mama Thira Taverna, and To Bricki, which are all conveniently located a short distance from Agali Houses Hotel. There are many popular activities in the area for visitors, e.g. art galleries such as: Leoni Schmiedel. Have a fantastic time in Firostefani!

I can’t imagine a more perfect location for a hotel. We booked a taxi transfer from the airport which was there when we arrived and in less than 15 minutes, we were met at the Firastefani main square by the porter. It was a short walk down from the main square with the most breathtaking views. (I was concerned we might have been in a tricky-to-find location having been to Firastefani before, but that wasn’t the case). The hotel itself is beautiful and pristinely clean. We were given a room upgrade (from executive to superior) but from the looks of it, all of the rooms had amazing views. It was quite simply the best view of any hotel I’ve ever stayed in! The room was spacious and had a decent size fridge which meant we spent every evening watching the sunset from our balcony with drinks before heading out for dinner. The pool is beautiful and the beds are really comfortable. Plenty of areas available for shade. We didn’t have breakfast included so just got ourselves croissants from the nearest shop. Lunch at the pool bar was always delicious and great quality. All the staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful. Maria at the pool bar was a star! Yes there are lots of steps, but that’s what you get in Firastefani! The views are certainly worth it. It’s a short walk to some amazing restaurants in Firastefani itself, or about 10 minutes into Fira. If you want a truly amazing Santorini experience, this is the hotel for you. Really hope to be able to go back one day!

I stayed at the Agali houses for three nights with my 16 year old daughter and her best friend. We had such an amazing time, and should we ever return to Santorini this is where I would stay.

Our positive experience began when we arrived with a warm and informative welcome from the hotel manager on duty, providing welcome drinks and lots of useful information on things to do during our stay. Our room was spacious and clean, with a lovely private balcony overlooking the Caldera. The pool and surrounding area were a delight and I can certainly vouch for the quality of the cocktails that other reviewers have mentioned.

Through the hotel, we had arranged in advance both the taxi transfer from the airport, and also a day excursion on a sailing yacht. The transfer was convenient of course, but I would also thoroughly recommend the sailing experience. There are many options for such an excursion of course, but for the over-organisers like myself, knowing it was all arranged was peace of mind and the quality of the trip itself was excellent with door to door transportation all arranged.

In terms of the location of the Agali Houses it was perfect. Guests arrive at the top of the ‘cliff’ and you are helped down the steps to check in and your room. At the top there is a small collection of restaurants and shops, and then to walk into Fira central takes about 10 minutes. Fira was fun to shop in and also eat out in but I found it nice to be in Firostefani as it felt a little quieter and that the location gave you the best of both worlds.

Fabulous hotel. Website doesn’t do it justice. Loved the pool area, quite a large pool. Swim up pool bar is the business. Lots of seating areas.
The staff were all so friendly and accommodating and spoke perfect English.
It has a great location 10 minute walk to Fira 5 minute walk to Imergovli. 10 minutes in a cab to Oia.
NOTE, there are a lot of steps down to the property, as a fit person I sometimes struggled with the steps up.
Our room was a superior double
Room with caldera views. Balcony was good size and private, room was fab and renovated, note some rooms are slightly dated.
Breakfast area was really fab but options weren’t great but I think that is because of Covid, but their fresh bugata was amazing!
Organize your airport transfer with the hotel it’s €25, worth it as a Porter will help you with your bags down the steps.
Some nice restaurants near by too.
This was our aw one time to santorini, the last time we stayed in Imergovli but we much preferred this location.

This is my third time staying in Firostefani so have experienced other hotels! I have also stayed in a lot of wonderful hotels paying a similar price for context with my review.

Starting with the positives -
> very clean throughout and beautiful pool area and shared seating areas
> reception and breakfast staff very friendly and would do anything to make your stay more comfortable
> rooms have beautiful views of the Caldera

Negatives that in my opinion outweigh the positives considering the price we paid -
> pool service extremely slow, to the point we gave up ordering drinks after a couple of days of our stay and had our own in the room instead. I also had a very strange incident where I ordered 2 drinks that after an hour I gave up and went to pay for my previous drink and as he had already put the drinks through the till he had to then give me 2 mini Proseccos as I said I didn’t want the drinks now after waiting that long. This shouldn’t have been the issue that it was.
> pool towels also seemed an issue to get hold off - again paying that much money you shouldn’t be told “I think you already have your towels in your room
> room my parents stayed in was an executive room and very outdated decor
> we stayed for a week and the storage in the rooms were not practicable no drawers, one small wardrobe.
> breakfast was extremely basic and very small choice.
> most frustrating thing overall was that every day we had our rooms cleaned housekeeping would turn off your hot water and your air conditioning and open all the windows. If you then are out for the day you come back to a boiling room and have to wait for the water to reheat which isn’t a luxury experience.

I hope my constructive feedback is taken onboard but it’s all those little things that I don’t think make Agali luxury and worth the expense with it’s current offering.

The pool at Agali Houses and the views from the balconies off the room are the highlights to the hotel, it is also in an ideal location! You can easily walk into the bustling part of Fira or hike to Imerovegli. It was our honeymoon, and I was slightly disappointed with our room. We noted on our reservation it was our honeymoon and the room had two twin beds pushed together with the crack down the middle and it was very awkward. Luckily, we weren't in the room much and the pool area is stunning! Definitely go up the hill to Galini Cafe!

I don't think you can find a better place to enjoy Santorini than the Agali Houses. The cliffside location has unbeatable views of the caldera. The pool deck with covered, cushioned lounges is the perfect place to relax and enjoy those views. Just imagine yourself there listening to the music, with a beverage and/or snack from the bar. Maybe with a good book, definitely with your spouse and best friend (same person!) And the staff is all friendly and helpful. Go there!

Agali Houses is an excellent hotel choice. Great location in Firostefani, 10 minute walk to Fira and cliffside views of the Caldera from all the rooms. Rooms are modern and comfortable. The pool is large with enough loungers to generally accommodate all takers. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of options to get you started in the morning. Vasilika and her team are very helpful with local, advice, taxis and restaurant reservation. There is a shortage of taxis and restaurants are difficult to reach so a good hotel concierge is key. The only negative is the 200+ steps from the town center to the hotel desk. Thankfully, the Agali Houses crew takes care of the luggage but the steps could be a real challenge for some. Of course, lots of steps equals a great view of the Caldera as well.

Santorini is a fairly expensive Island - you should know that before you come. We considered a few options before travelling and am very happy we chose Agali Houses. The location is great as it’s only a few minutes walk from Thira main square. The views from the pool area, restaurant and our balcony were incredible. The pool area itself was also fantastic - the sun beds are big and comfortable (more so than those at the v expensive Cavoo Tagoo) and the sofa areas are perfect for those looking to avoid the sun. Finally all staff members were friendly and extremely helpful - especially Bora who pretty much helped plan and book our trips around the Island. Great overall value!!

I will defiantly be returning to this hotel when I come back to Santorini. Thank you!!

Couldn’t have asked for more from a hotel; we thought it would be good, only to be surprised with how good it actually was. Conveniently located – short walk to either Fira (which then connects you well to the entire island) or Imerovigli for evening meals. The views from the hotel were spectacularly good, and we very quickly decided that we’d much rather view sunset from our balcony than anywhere else in the island. Our room was cosy, very well kept and we had our own privacy. The staff were helpful and welcoming before we arrived and throughout our stay. After dinner in the city, make sure you speak to Bora at reception for a pleasant conversation with laughter. Highly recommend Agali Houses – the pictures do not do it justice. Would love to return on our next trip.

The Hotel Agali Houses are centally located in Ferostephani. The complex offers modern accomadation, each with a view of the caldera. Our room had it own veranda with a table, chairs, and two chaise lounges. our room was comfortable with a small, quiet refrigerator (turn on 10 minutes before use). The bathroom worked very well. The staff were very helpfull and kind. The porter (and all around good guy) Georgi, is very strong and he carried our bags up and down the nearly 200 steps to our room (our room was the lowest in the complex). Public parking is a short distance away. Consult Google Maps. The breakfast was pretty ordinary.

The Agali Houses have some wonderful public patios and a delightful pool area. These were great places to loung and rest up from the hike down. We would stay here again.

We had the exec room so not sure how different it is, but the exec room did have a sheltered bit for kids to sit in the shade if need be, and the rooms have air con so you should be ok. Oh and also the location of the houses is on a cliff so it gets windy which is refreshing! Enjoy! You’ll love it!

As is the case with most hotels all you have to do is have them swap the drink from glass to plastic. If you happen to bring glass to the pool someone will bring you a plastic cup which happened to us. No problems.
