We arrived late at night and was delighted to see the smiling doorman greet us. The hotel is easy to locate from the airport, with parking by the side of the property. Reception were extremely efficient and friendly, and we were checked in within minutes.

We had chosen a 'volcano view' room. The sunsets were absolutely spectactular. Our room was very comfortable, with the usual amenities all working. The room felt fresh and clean and not at all dated. After a very comfortable night's sleep, we arrived at the buffett breakfast. I particularly liked that the fruit was different each day. The eggs were always cooked to perfection, not to mention the lovely array of pastries.

We only sampled the swimming pool a bit as we tended to go out exploring, however, when we did, the facilities were all extremely clean and tidy, and lovely fresh pool towels to dry outselves with.

I was lucky enough to sample the spa, which felt extremely luxurious, without the usual big bill you find in big hotels.

Overall, we had a fabulous time. The location was perfect, a 5 minute walk to Fira, but away from all the noise. The hotel rooms have great views on each side of the island as the hotel sits on top of a hill. The staff were so welcoming, efficient and friendly. The hotel is clean and the food was great.

Wow!!! I had never been to Sanforini before so this was my first time staying at this hotel and it was perfect! The hotel itself was beautiful, extremely clean and excellent service. The staff could not do enough for you and were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. We had lunch here each day from the pool bar menu and it was honestly the best food I had during my stay in Santorini and was well priced for what you get. The hotel was in a great location only about a 10/15 minute walk from the centre of Thira and about a 10 minute walk from the bus station if you want to travel around the island which we found very useful. The buses were very cheap and from memory to Oia were scheduled every 30 minutes. I would definitely go back to this hotel, I loved everything about it! Thank you for the best stay!

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at the Majestic Hotel. We enjoyed every minute of our stay from the welcome drinks to the courtesy room which we were able to use on our last day to shower before our departure.

All the staff were amazing. Breakfast was varied and tasty. We enjoyed the food from the pool bar and delicious cocktails and the reception staff were great, helping book a catamaran tour.

The hotel is a short walk into Fira along a well lit road with a pavement so it felt safe to walk.

Sunset in Fira is a crowded affair so if you haven’t secured a restaurant or cocktail bar, just stay at the hotel. The Caldera view rooms all have a sunset view, as does the terrace upstairs from reception where they serve drinks and play classical music as the sun goes down.

The pool area is great with comfortable beds and towels provided. Guests are not able to reserve beds and the life guard ensures they are cleared ready for the next people when someone leaves. We always got a bed no matter what time we arrived at the pool.

The room and general areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean.

We knew there was a busy road outside so it didn’t bother us one bit as we booked the Caldera room for the view. The quieter rooms are at the rear of the hotel, these also have a sea view but not the sunset.

A big thank you to George and Jersey for your company and lovely cocktails and of course the Sailor Jerry’s!

Despite having traveled many places in the world, I've never felt compelled to post a hotel review before. But this one deserves some special attention. I can only assume that many of these earlier reviews are fake because our experience was far from positive.

First off, hotel is somewhat remote and a long, dangerous walk, due to traffic, from all the activity. But, worse yet, we were placed in the wrong room with only a view of a desolate field. The hotel staff completely abdicated responsibility and pawned me off to the tour operator who, in turn, got no cooperation from the hotel either.

All that they offered was free drinks at the bar - an offer that they denied at check out when I was charged for every order. There were also a number of other unexpected "local" charges and taxes for our "prepaid" stay. Very poor business practices.

The room was small, smelly, and hot. The air conditioning didn't work. Neither did the television, phone and, most importantly, one of the two main lights. I immediately asked the front desk for assistance in getting these things addressed and three days later, nothing was done.

At check in, our room was not ready despite our arrangements for early arrival. But instead, we were greeted with a faux-friendly host who proceeded to use this time that we were trapped poolside with no place to go in order to give us an hour long sales pitch for "extra" tours that we needed to take. Never mind, that we had already booked and prepaid for these same types of tours. The hard sell went on anyway.

All in all, Santorini is a beautiful place with wonderful people but The Majestic is simply a place to avoid as your home away from home.

The hotel is advertised as close to Fira but is the last hotel literally outside Fira with a very unsafe walking path to Fira . The Hotel has no shuttles to any place .
We had a room with the Cauldron view but room is super small with small windows , thick drapes and a small balcony facing the road with traffic!! Not a great combination or location .
The breakfast is average ..service at breakfast is below par .. you have to ask at least twice to get milk for the coffee and by that time the coffee is cold .
The lobby is very un inviting, and we were there around oct 10, so the place was deserted as well . The only time we saw people was at breakfast .
Will not recommend as there are better options available for the same price or slightly more

I have stayed at The Majestic Hotel 3 times. Christiana and the reception staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. We used their facilities in June this year and were greeted as long lost friends with smiles and hugs.
Thank you for making special memories for me, my son and my late friend ❤️

I agree with previous comments so will try and give useful tips. Room 213
Majestic views (Beauty)
Busy and unlit rd (Beast)
Can be daunting for some!
Caldera view is spectacular (west facing SUNSET) but road noise.
Rooms on other side view Distant Aegean and quieter.
Bus station 10 mins brisk walk
Fascinating and calamitous with full buses NOW can’t imagine it at peak time of year)
Very cheap 1.6 euros each way! Cash
Beers are around 7 euros generally
Food is pretty average if truth be told when out and about and the Hotel won’t be beaten in this respect as far as I’m concerned.
There is a new brewery 400 metres away ( 13 months old) where you can tour and sample the beer and dine
We didn’t tour but sampled the beer and dined
I recommend it!
This Hotel is tremendous value for money and just far enough away from the busy centre if you can put up with the busy road.
The hard working staff will do anything to please you and yes, you can find fault in any hotel but I would recommend the Majestic Hotel

Supermarket nearer

The hotel is located just 10-15 minutes walk from the main town of Thira (Fira) which has an enormous amount of restaurants, bars and tourist shopping. There is a Supermarket just 10 minutes walk away. Taxis can be booked which can take about 10 minutes to get into town due to traffic conjestion in the evenings. Costs about 10 euros.

All rooms have a sea view as Thira is on a peninsula. Try and book a room overlooking the pool with a sea view as the other rooms with a sea view also face a very busy main road into town.

The staff in all areas are lovely and extremely helpful, especially the girls on front desk and the staff who work the poolside bar.

Three restaurants on site: breakfast, poolside and evening dining all serving a good choice and the food is very good.

I believe we had one of the smaller rooms which was fine. Facilities include safe, TV (only Channels in English was the News), balcony, fridge/mini bar/snacks, Queensize bed, hairdryer fixed on bathroom wall.

We had a wonderful week here and would definitely come again, but I do have a negative that the hotel management should look into regarding housekeeping.

Every time we entered our room there was a strong smell of damp. The room was clean but the bathroom was very dirty. There is mould on the tiles and pink soap/skin scum all around the bath. It really is in need of a good deep clean. A future update would be good as looks very dated compared to the room.

Housekeeping are non existent at restocking. Not once did they restock the mini bar causing us not to have the necessity of water and there were no snacks at all when we arrived. One day we even ran out of toilet paper and had to use tissues as housekeeping failed to notice that the spare had been used despite me leaving the empty cardboard roll on top of the bin. All this was completely rectified as soon as I mentioned it to the girls on reception.

Airport is just a 15 minute drive but planes do not fly over the hotel and nor can you hear them.

This was our last stop on our island hopping holiday. The Majestic is located a 10 minute walk from the restaurants and shops in Fira. The staff at reception are very helpful and showed us to our room straight away. The room itself was of a very good size, very spacious and with good air con. Basic tea and coffee provided and spare sheets, pillows etc. super comfy bed. The bathroom was fine but could do with updating soon as it was very 70s black marble and the bath/shower a bit worn but worked fine. Jacuzzi jets covered in green but we didn’t use them. Otherwise very clean.

The view from our room was over the caldera so we could enjoy the stunning sunsets. However, there was a very busy road right outside our balcony which was noisy in the day but thankfully didn’t affect our sleep at night.
The road is the main downside to its location. It is the main road from the port to Fira and busy with fast cars, mad mopeds and quads. Crossing the road to the pavement opposite is not for the faint hearted and I would not like to be there with young children. Maybe I was overly nervous, but it was not a fun experience. A pedestrian crossing and speed limit, or a courtesy shuttle is desperately needed here for safety. There is an accident waiting to happen on that road.

Breakfast was excellent. Great choice of hot and cold items. Coffee or tea brought to the table.

Had lunch twice at the pool bar which was very good. Pool bar staff very good with great service. Didn’t try the restaurant in the evening as there was very few people there so we went in to town where there are heaps to choose from.

I think maybe this is more a good 4 star hotel rather than a 5 star. However, we enjoyed the facilities. Just a shame about the busy road which you just couldn’t avoid.

This is the most peaceful pool I have ever sunbathed in , the sun beds are like beds , no one is allowed to reserve but there is always a bed as staff remove towels if left too long , all you can hear is the hum of the filters and people breaking wind ! Few more spare sunshades would be nice around the smaller pool area .
The hotel is on a busy road which is a bit annoying walking into Town as the island does not seem to accommodate pedestrians . Maybe a hourly hotel shuttle / minibus would help ?
The rooms were clean , ours was in the shade so if that is not your thing mention it on booking .
The poolside food was delicious and large enough to share one portion .
The evening restaurant was amazing , it was never busy sadly , if you need to escape the sunset squashes of the town highly recommend it here - best food we had on holiday . Maybe a free bottle of wine would entice people in , it also needs to look less formal , more relaxed and Greek .
Staff are friendly and helpful .
More large shrubs and plants poolside restaurant area and comfy chairs would be nice , the ones there are uncomfortable when eating lunch .
Booked through TUI and never saw a single rep all holiday , the hotel staff helped more , so book direct with hotel and save money .
Bigger signage would help around the hotel .

Santorini is a beautiful place , so many cruise ships make it really busy at times and this hotel is the perfect escape , food and poolside .

April is a mixed month. The days may be warm but the nights can be chilly. Pack Layers The hotel is about 15 minutes walking into town so bring comfortable shoes. The towns are very hilly so be prepared! If you have time, Crete is only an hour and a half by ferry and well worth the trip.
