I notice that reviews for this hotel are over three years old. We were looking for our usual Ibis in St. Lo but approached the town from another angle and ended up here! A long sweeping path with trees led us to the chateau where M. Groult the patron was waiting and he seemed very pleased to see us. We...

The location is indeed amazing, into a wonderful ancient castle. However, the price was a little too high compared with the standard, very very "amateurial". Beware the breakfast: no buffet abnd you pay a crazy amount for a croissant, a coffee and a glass of orange juice. Room was impressive, rather clean, but once again with non professional arrangement. The...

We stayed for two nights in mid November 2014. Furnishings and decor oldy worldy but that was what we expected in a 15th century chateau. The hotel rooms and grounds were just as we had expected and the views across the river superb. The only downside to the stay would be that breakfast was very expensive for what you actually got....

We stayed here two weeks ago for our wedding anniversary. We only stayed one night, but we had a fantastic time. Our room was at the top of a very winding staircase.Lovely walks by the river. Our room wasn't ready till 4.00, but we had complementary tea + coffee while we waited. Super meal in the restaurant in the evening....

We had a really large room and bathroom in a very nice chateau! Great view out over the pasture. Four poster bed. Very comfortable. The room was not ready until 4:00 pm which was odd. The furnishings in the common areas seemed a bit worn.

Even though our stay was in 1999, we enjoyed it so much that I am writing at this time. Charming, warm rooms, (although I must say that USA mattresses are more comfortable - but, again, that was in 1999) and all meals were beautifully prepared and served. Their elegant, well-behaved whippet greeted us daily. :-) If I ever get back...

Driving through the edge of St Lo we were starting to wonder what we had let ourselves in for but then as we came down the drive to this astonishing old chateau we worried no more. The chateau has been tastefully converted into a hotel and restaurant, but still manages to give the impression that you are staying at a...

Enjoyed stay in the hotel and a dinner in Barn restaurant. Delicious food ANC amazing surroundings. Restaurant could do with a pre dinner bar. Great service. Hotel also very historic. Attic rooms have very small windows and no sound proofing so go for better rooms. Would stay again. Poor pillows and old worn towels.

i recently staryed here with my mom and cousin, and I have to say this is one of the worst hotel experiences i have ever encountered. we were immediately shuffled away to a back building and dragged all our luggage (with no offer of help) up a winding narrow staircase to an attic of a room that looked like it...
