After confusion with our booking we were allocated a room which was not booked No. 00, the room was disgraceful and was in desperate need of refurbishment. Although the service and food were good the room was definitely not 4stars as advertised. A real shame because the location is beautiful

After a long days driving , arriving at d'Ygrande was a tranquil oasis. Our room was not in the main building but in an outbuilding which was airy and spacious. The views across the rural valley were restorative and calming. The evening meal was taken outside and the food was beautifully cooked and presented. Breakfast was again alfresco which set... More

We stayed Aug 9/10. Grounds were remote and lovely. Wifi signal only available in main building but was slow. Room was quiet and bed was comfortable. We met the 3 dogs - harmless although my wife is scared of dogs so didn't take to them. Breakfast both mornings was excellent although chaotic with various bits running out - orange juice,... More

A very nice location, on top of a hill, overlooking the Auvergne landscape. We had the Menu Gourman Regionale - lunch and we enjoyed it a lot, good mix of delicate tastes and seasoning. The suggested wine, Costieres de Nimes went very well with it.

The Château Ygrande is a fine example of a huge house repurposed as a hotel. Many original features have been saved, though some, like the old fabric wall covers in the cenbtral staircase, are showing signs of wear and tear. We stayed on the top floor accessible only by two curved flights of stairs. The room was comfortable and offered... More

We loved our stay at the Chateau D'Ygrande. The staff were friendly and accomodating and the food and room were great. As other reviewers have expressed, there are no soap/shampoo available in the bathrooms (except a soap dispenser). The area around the Chateau is also very nice with plenty to do and visit.

Very relaxed and friendly, helpful service. No lift but ground floor disabled facility which we had to use due to damaged leg. Willing service for change from allocated room on top floor! No coffee facilities in disabled facility but lounge in chateau, very welcoming. No chance to use swimming pool as rained during our stay but very relaxing.

Ygrande We got very excited when we came across the awesome website for Chateau Ygrande, then we read the reviews, most of which were great, but a handful of which were worrisome. We decided to go ahead and give it a try because of the beautiful pictures on their website, and because I love horses and really looked forward to... More

We arranged this trip rather at the last minute but the hotel is lovely, if rather lost in the countryside. Staff are welcoming and friendly and our room was very well appointed with a lovely view over the fields and lake. As it is an old building I noticed there was a handicapped room in an adjacent building. Pool is... More

We have stayed at Ygrande before and probably will again. The hotel provides a very welcome break between Paris and the south, and with plenty of space to walk and relax. Apart from liquid dispensers in the rooms rather than steal-able toiletries, everything fitted the bill. Our room (12) has views over the gardens and the lake and it is... More
