The people were very nice and helpful. Room was small but immaculate. Good bed. Coffee and newspapers by the lobby. Coffee and decaf were quite drinkable and fresh even later in the day. Parking right by the rooms which is convenient like the old motorcourts.

We came into town to see some friends and we choosed this hotel because of the positive reviews and the price. Close axes to RR, great bagels for breakfast and a clean room. What more could ask for. Very friendly helpful staff.

I stayed here for a nearby wedding. It did the trick for my 3 night stay. Felt pretty dated and motel like but can't really complain with the price paid. Room was supposedly non smoking but definitely smelled like smoke...at least I wasn't spending a lot of time there. Breakfast was simple but great with fresh bagels and pastries from...

Room was good value. If we'd have wanted a 5 star hotel, we'd have paid 5 star prices. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was adequate. We wanted somewhere safe, clean and quiet and The Gateway delivered on all 3 three. Would go the again and would recommend.

We needed a place to stay on Long Island for 3 nights that was close to family and still accessible to the City. When I made the reservation, this hotel had the best price I found, was close enough to family, and had acceptable reviews, plus it was in walking distance of the LIRR station. But when we arrived, I...

The room was nice enough and a passable breakfast. However, the temperature changed during the last night and the room was 65 the next morning with the heater blowing out cold air. They had not paid attention to the weather forecast and thus had not turned on the heat for the entire building.

We needed a place to stay to attend a wedding and this hotel was close to the venue. I did not expect much as we usually stay in big chain hotels. This hotel was by far the cleanest hotel I have EVER stayed in. The staff, every one of them here was friendly and helpful. I requested a room change...

We booked a week's stay to be close to friends on Long Island as well as have access to the city (the hotel is a 10 minutes walk along the highway to the Long Island Railroad Merrick station). We were delighted with our accommodation. A nice large room, with well-appointed bathroom (toiletries included). The bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean,...

We stayed at Gateway Inn to attend a funeral in the area. There are very few properties on the South Shore of Long Island – most are found along Hempstead Turnpike. The location was perfect for us. The room was clean, the Internet worked and we had a nice stay for two nights. The Continental breakfast had cereal, oatmeal, bagels...
