I had a beautiful stay at one of the units at Emlonyeni, very private and refreshing. The room had the most beautiful view, the sound of the sea had a very calming effect. The food was amazing, I absolutely enjoyed it.

A wonderful five day experience meeting up with friends after having shared a holiday at Umngazi 25 years ago. Inviting and comfortable, meeting all our expectations. Staff all very friendly and efficient. Location beautiful but inaccessable. Our Green Room door dinner experience did not come up to our expectations.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Found ourselves planning our days around the superb meals.....with tea and cake and pub snacks in-between! Walks on the beach were lovely at low tide. Unfortunately we couldn't complete a sunset cruise due to an approaching electrical storm, however this is a must for any nature or bird lover. I will definitely return

we have been longing to visit Umngazi for many years and eventually managed to make a reservation. It was wonderful and management even accommodated us for an extra night because bad weather forced us to stay longer. Would love to go again. Theresa

Our 2nd stay within 2 years. A lot changed, the redecorated and painted the whole place and for the Emlonyeni Bungalows they built a deck with small pool next to the breakfast house. Very nice. The fireplace in our room was smelling and we were upgraded to a Ntabeni room without any problems. What a view up there! The place...

Visited Umngazi 20 years ago and again this November, still the great family hotel with amazing food, our bungalow with a view of the river and sea wonderful, some of the garden cottages still need upgrades as a bit old and tired, renovations still going on so be aware of some noise of contractors that we were not advised about,...

It was the second time i went to visit Umngazi and i must say i have no regrets. All the staff are warm and very welcoming. Though there is not much activities but it is a perfect place for couples to bond and enjoy each others company with the wonderful view of the sea and the bungalows themselves. Loved every...

What an amazing holiday at Umngazi again!! From the moment we arrived to the last minute at the resort everything was just perfect and even when it rained we still had fun! The staff at Umngazi are really special and they always ensure that your stay is so memorable in small little ways...nothing is too big or small for them...

Superb views, great rooms, excellent food, friendly and happy staff. What is there not to like? Perhaps the potholes on the short (18km?) road from Port St John's to the resort could be fixed, but once there it is splendid, wonder-filled, delightful. Among the delights are cows on the beach, the third most important mangrove site - at 43,000 hectares...

Overall a great stay (our 3rd time). Venue is always beautiful and well maintained. General service was good, although we did seem to be ignored at Dinner quite often and had to call someone over. Food was great, although we were disappointed with some of the lunches.. very limited, i.e. just hotdogs or pizza day? Bar stock - various drinks...
