Only nice thing is a spectacular deck view of the ocean. The stairway to the beach was padlocked so no access. Bathroom was poorly lit and musty, bedding was limp, fridge didn't work, wifi weak. All these issues pale when compared to the chain smoking owner who cussed like a sailor, treated her staff and anyone not white like dirt....

Stayed in the Self Catering Room which consists of a large ensuite bedroom with a king size and single bed attached to a large covered in veranda providing a kitchenette, dining table and seating area. Yes it was dated and basic (even shabby in places) but we found it very clean, everything worked, the bed was comfortable and their night...

The views were great, but the rooms have seen better days. Breakfast was only available at a nearby b&b a good walk away. Towels & soap provided as is tea & coffee in the room. Security guard kept shining his torch into the room during the night

Five star view and friendly staff but in great need of TLC. We stay for one night, Thuli meet us on arrival. She was very helpful and advised us to have dinner at Steeves Pub. We ate the burgers, there were great!

This was our second visit to the Glass House Guest House and we were not disappointed. Once again, the great hospitality, the beautiful view, the fact that it is close to a restaurant and shops as well as good value, reminded us of why we chose to visit there again. Keep up the good work Karen and Derek

We relied on the internet to find a place with cheaper rates. It was difficult to find this place because there are no Street numbers/addresses. It is very awkward to get into the place especially when it dark BUT the hospitality we got was a blessing, the room with a balcony facing the sea was a cherry on top.

Went to the guest house for an overnight stay. I was disappointed as my bedding was pretty old and washed out with stains. on arrival the reception was unwelcoming as we were asked what we wanted and I had to tell Karen that we were here to check in. The rude reception just ruined my stay in that guesthouse. I...

My husband and I were so excited until we got there. The website of the guest lodge is very misleading. When we arrived and got settled in, we noticed that the furniture was disgustingly filthy and there was a blood stain on the bed sheet. I mean for the price we paid, we would expect something decent. There was no...

My wife and I traveled from the South Coast through the Transkei to get to Port St. Johns. The drive through the Transkei in itself was a challenge and we were looking forward to get to the guest house. Port St Johns was absolutely run down and not a wonderful sight to behold and neither was the wooden log cabin...
