Real pleasure arriving at Selam Guest House: rooms and bathroom are really clean and confortable and you'll be welcomed like you were family. Don't be surprised if you are invited to enjoy an amazing Ethiopian dinner (best I've had in this country) with the family as this is how they roll! The breakfast is also very nice. Its located about...

We stayed in the newer part of the guesthouse, the rooms were really nice and very clean. The owner family makes you feel rather part of the family than guests by their hospitality. It is a lovely place to stay.

Breakfast was eggs, plenty of toast and honey and of course delicious coffee. I had a tummy upset first night and the owners wife made me a concoction of ground coffee and honey which I...

I am German and visited with my Ethiopian fiancèe the Selam guest house in November 2014 für 3 nights. The hotel is placed in a quiet quarter. At night we only saw stars and heard the nature. The room was very clean with working toilet flush and hot shower. The owner is a very friendly and supportive person as well...

The room was basic but ok. The toilet wasn't great, but in line with what you can expect in Ethiopia. The breaksfast was average. It's not located in the city centre but at the other side of the churches clusters, which is actually 10-15 minutes walking from the centre. But it's not a big deal, as moving around with tuktuks...

Selam Guesthouse, 4 rooms with private bathrooms is a lovely place to stay in Lalibela. Very clean, quiet and friendly owners. Did not have breakfast there as had early starts both mornings but a beer in their nice common area in the evening. A torch is needed in the dark. Some tourist shops and restaurants are a short walk away.

We arrived at Selam Guest House in the morning without a reservation and were able to haggle down a double room to 250 birr. It is a great little guest house - the owner was very welcoming, the young girl makes a great coffee and omelette for breakfast! Lovely and quiet, with a very relaxed feeling. The bathroom we had...

Small guest house with very friendly owners. They took care of everything for us and when my wife got a few they treated her with tremendous care and love. They treated us like family whilst our stay and we already miss them. Very clean, always hot water, very friendly. Good value for money. Very safe place, I bet nothing has...

This is a small, clean, friendly guesthouse. We had ample hot water in our en suite bathroom and a good breakfast by request. The manager took care of our excess luggage when we went trekking. The cost for a double room was 320 birr (27 birr = £1 at the present exchange rate).
