This was the worst hotel we stayed in in Ethiopia. We asked for an airport transfer, and when we arrived at the hotel were not charged, as is the normal practice in Ethiopia. However, when we went to leave the driver told us charge was 500 birr, and that we had to pay another 500 for the airport pick-up. He...

I like the proximity of the hotel to the church and the community. The customer service was amazing and I enjoyed this hotel while I was in Lalibela. I recommend every one to stay at Aman. Mesfin from Vancouver , BC, Canada My co- work just returned after Visiting Lalibela . She told me that my recommendation to stay at...

The hotel is very close to the churches and one of the exiting places to have a view of the historic town, the nearbyvillages and to also have a feeling of the community. Above all, the receptionist of the hotel Mesfin was very much helpful in arranging everything we require him. The room is clean and attractive. The hotel also...

This was the worst hotel I stayed at in Ethiopia. The first room had no water from the shower so changed to another which had minimal water and not hot. There was green and black mold on the bathroom ceiling and walls and the drain smelt foul, mold was also in some places on the bedroom ceiling and the room...

I should have read the the reviews on Tripadvisor, but I took a coworkers advice and stayed here one night in Lalibela. Horrible. The owner was extremely pushy and tried to not only overcharge us for the room, but also for transportation to/from airport. Room was basic. No hot water. 1 night and we were out.

Very comfortable hotel with a great location. The rooms have balconies, they are clean, the bathrooms are quite new and with reliable hot water. There is no restaurants but the hotel is very close to banks, shops, restaurants, airlines office and historic churches. the rates don't include breakfast but there is a cafeteria just outside the hotel. Staff is nice...

Arrived late p.m. as a walk-up. After a bit of haggling agreed $40 (including "corruption money" - his words not mine). Reasonable bedroom and shower room, reliable hot water, noisy echoing corridor. We had previously looked at and rejected: - the Ashenten: a bit too basic - with dire shower rooms. - the Seven Olives: the room had an unpleasant...

Worst experience on our two week trip to Ethiopia. The rooms were dirty and the manager overcharged us on our trip from the airport. The only thing good about this hotel is the location. It is close to a nice restaurant and the historic churches. After the first night we moved to a much nicer hotel which cost a little...

Hotel was generally OK, with clean rooms and good showers (as long as you remembered to turn the water heater on!). Bathroom door tended to clash with the sink in the small bathroom. Hotel was well placed for the Lalibela sights and for the bank next door. There were also some restaurants within easy walking distance. Sadly tourism has somewhat...

Unfortunately and contrary to the other reviews cited hereby, our experience at Aman Hotel was not a good one at all. We visited Lalibela during the famous Timkat Festival. Mr. Cheru at Aman Hotel charged us the excessive amount of $150/NIGHT (!!!), obligatorily for the first 3 nights, while the last night he accepted after lots and lots of bargains...
