Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a weekend for skiing. I couldn't have picked a better place. It felt so cozy, at home. Chuck the owner, housekeeper and cook was very hospitable. You can walk right up to Chuck and ask him anything. He has an answer, recommendations and stories. I never had an experience like this ever and...

Mailene and Mario were a great addition to the weekend. She and I discussed wine, compared notes and they did use me as a resource. Innkeepers are here to offer advice about where to go, what to do in the area and we thrive on that. It is nice to come across such a nice couple. Mailene and I had...

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed a snowboarding weekend stay at his bed and breakfast. The breakfast was delicious, the hospitality was top notch and it was very clean...a biggie for us, and most importantly we felt as if we were visiting a relative;not staying w/ a stranger. Chuck was knowledgeable about the area and to my boyfriend's delight an...

We appreciate the commentary and had a great time with this couple. They were both creatives and a pleasure to visit with. We talked, compared notes, toured the inn, reviewed some of the artwork and generally had a great time together. I hope they return often and it is people like this that make my "retirement" career choice such a...

My partner and I recently spent four nights at the Fairlawn Inn, Hunter Mountain on a skiing trip and were delighted with our choice to stay there. The Inn is lovely, the food is delicious and the service is of the HIGHEST quality! The Inn is located in an excellent position in Hunter, within walking distance to Hunter Mountain and...

This couple was a definite pleasure to have at the inn. From the moment of their arrival to the too soon departure, they were great. I learned some new things about Australia but most of all the warmth of the people that live there. Ashleigh and Jason were a great addition to the inn and I appreciate their commentary and...

Stayed here a few weeks ago for 2 nights while my girlfriend and I skied at Hunter mountain. The location was great as the Inn is only a minute from the mountain. Also, the hospitality was great and so was the food. I would recommend it.

Frankly, I don't know how this place has a 4.5 star rating, and this makes me question relying on Tripadvisor for my next destination, so I would give this place a generous 2 stars, and its pretty much a reiteration of what previous honest reviewers have said. Pros: - VERY close to Hunter mountain, and amazing views! - the woman...

First of all I apologize to this guest if her experience did not warrant the 4.5 stars that is a normal experience here at the inn. We have 66% of our reviews before this posting rating us Excellent and an additional 19% Very Good. I would ask that readers of this review read further reviews and see what is normal...

My fiancé and I decided on a last minute ski adventure this past weekend. We could not have been happier with our stay at The Fairlawn. Because our plans were last minute, we were not able to find a sitter for our dog and were lucky enough to find an inn that could accommodate him. We stayed in a beautiful...

My girlfriend and I stayed at the cozy Fairlawn Inn for a night this past weekend, after a long day of hiking around Kaaterskill Falls. The inn was very accomodating for our early evening check-in time, which was 2 hours ahead of schedule, and was in a perfect location just minutes away from the park. Chuck the innkeeper was terrific...

My husband and I decided on the spur of the moment to take a short trip to relax after a busy summer - I'm a nurse and had spent long hours filling in for others on vacation, and my husband's organization has its annual major fundraiser toward the end of August, with many hours going into the preparation. While I...

I feel compelled to write about this B&B because I am truly amazed at the number of 5-star ratings its get, and so I wonder if something is amiss. A search through recent reviews show that most guests do drop extraordinary superlatives on this place -- and a very small fraction leave awful reviews. I also find it odd that...

The week of August 21, my wife and I spent 4 wonderfully relaxing days in the Catskill Mountains and the Fairlawn Inn. The Inn was built in 1904 and still has much of its striking interior woodwork and charm. We stayed in the Green room, which is light and has a very large bathroom. I would also recommend the Gazebo...

We at the inn and other guests congregated each night around the fire pit and bonded. This was one of two couples that visited mid-week and all of us had many conversations and laughs. The innkeeper is appreciative of the compliments and that they enjoyed visiting our beautiful area. Visiting an area B&B is a good way to get recommendations...
