This place is awesome. Its only about 10km drive in the mountains but the road is quite bad. They had a special on accommodation for this indepence weekend but unfortunately we did not know about it. We made a stop here on the way back to windhoek. We were welcomed by friendly staff, had a drink and went on the...

Campsite is great in a shaded peaceful area by the river. There is one ablution block for dish and laundry washing. Each campsite has a point of water and braai but no electricity. Baboons are everywhere so be careful as they will steal your food even when you're by the table eating! It never happened to me before. Usually they...

This is a good example of the contrasts in Namibia. You drive through the desert, with a drought in the country as well, and you find this oasis. The rooms and campsites are lined up next to this perennial fountain coming out of the mountains. The rooms are fantastic, and the ablution facilities at the campsites the same. The rooms...

We visited the NWR campsite on a day trip to hike the Olive trail within the Namib-Naukluft park. Whilst I can't comment on the quality of the camping accommodation, I can vouch for the staff that we met who were really friendly and helpful, and the cafe/bar which was great. This review focuses on the shorter of the day treks,...

First the good - the campsite is a welcome relief after several days in the desert because most sites sit next to a small creek. Birders will love it also! The washrooms look brand new (probably the nicest ones we have ever seen in a campground), like the restaurant and bar. The staff are great. We did portions of both...

We stayed at the campsite before our 8 day Naukluft hike. This is only because the Hikers Haven Shelter has been converted to the new reception, and there are no other accommodation options closed by. The campsite and facility have been completely refurbished, but I think a lot of money has been wasted. There is no lawn, so you camp...

Falling asleep next to the sound of the gentle stream ... Waking up to birdsong. This campground has an excellent ablution block (but bring your headlamp of showering after dusk, as the lights are powered by insufficient solar). One of the park's two major hiking trails begins at the camp and it's absolutely delightful. Almost all of the pitches have...

The drive back to the main lodge is an experience all it's own, do not come when it is getting dark. We had to wait for the springbok to quit 'springing' across the road at one point. We arrived to a warm welcome from the staff and one man very matter of factly collected our park entrance fee before we...

We stayed a night at the new, very comfortable, chalets next to the campground and were very impressed. The setting is very romantic, with the chalets situated next to the creek and trees and a nice back veranda. The chalets are of interesting construction, with stone lower walls and insulated canvas upper walls. All furniture and fittings looked to be...
