an absolute beautiful place in a stunning landscape. Yes, the rooms are hot as there is no aircon but spacious, clean and the food at the lodge is excellent. It's quite a busy place and service is excellent. Having a drink at the bar with a view like that, priceless!

Beautifully situated lodge with nice but dark rooms. The bathroom is rather narrow. The restaurant is nice, but when it's cold you have to wear a coat to dine. The heaters didn't work, so it was freezing cold during dinner. Even the food was cold within a few minutes and that ca

This lodge offers views across the bush with a resident baboon troop in clear view. The accommodation is very comfortable and the choices in the restaurant are very good. Just a few minutes away is the UNESCO world heritage site with its Stone Age rock carvings depicting the bush

We will be staying at Twyfelfontein Country Lodge in May. Is it necessary to book a game drive before we arrive at the lodge? Thanks. Janet
They had sign ups for game drives when we arrived at the lodge.

Wondering why the mountain view room should be avoided.
Good Day Eileen Thank you for your enquiry. The construction of the lodge is such that half the rooms have a view over the plains and the other half a view of the red sandstone mountains. It’s very much a matter of personal preference\taste. Decorations and layout within the rooms are more-or-less the same with the same “theme” and “atmosphere” throughout, except for our double and triple rooms. We have big spotlights that lit up the mountains at night providing for a very nice majestic atmosphere. Rooms on the mountain side do have a bit more shelter from environmental elements, as well as a bit more privacy from the main walk-ways between the rooms and the main building. You are welcome to inform our reservations office if you prefer a specific “view” or if you need more information on a specific room. They will do their best to accommodate your request. Kind Regards and we look forward to receive your reservation. Riaan Brand Manager: Operations Namibia Country Lodges obo Twyfelfontein Country Lodge

Hi Can you please tell me how you booked this accommodation? Did you book directly on line or was it part of a package booked through an agent? It looks like when you book through the hotel's website, it goes through a third party and they talk about the possibility of over booking, yikes! Any info you can share would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Good Day Suzanne Thank you for your enquiry and interest to book at Twyfelfontein. Please accept our sincere apology for being directed to a 3rd party site. We are aware of agents currently selling our property as if their own - even using Twyfelfontein as part of their domain names. We are working on a solution to that to eliminate the unnecessary confusion it creates. Nevertheless, you can book directly with us. Please forward your booking request to our central reservations and one of our consultants will be happy to assist you. Just click on the “Email Hotel” button on the TripAdvisor page of Twyfelfontein Country Lodge to get the email address. You can then copy and paste the mail address in your mail client and draft you own email to us. (We may not post email or website addresses in replies). Please do not hesitate to let us know of any other questions you may have. Best Regards and looking forward to welcome you at Twyfelfontein. hi, what time do the tour for "desert elephants" depart. We shall be travelling in first week on May'17. Also how much time does it take to reach your lodge from Swakopmund taking the direct C34-C35 route. Regards
Good Day Sir Thank you for your enquiry. The nature drive in search for the Desert Adapted Elephants starts at 16h00 in the afternoon. Briefing for the drive is at 15h45 at reception. The nature drive normally takes about 3.5 to 4.0 hours. Whilst searching for the elephants, our guides will also explain and point out other geographical highlights as well interesting fauna & flora species. Chances for spotting other wildlife and antelope species are also good. The drive includes drinks and ends with a sundowner allowing you the opportunity to take really nice sunset pictures. Depending on your vehicle, you can budget around 4.5 hours for travelling from Swakopmund, via Henties Bay and Uis to Twyfelfontein. Travelling distance is approximately 350km. Please do not hesitate to post more questions you might have. Kindest Regards Riaan Brand Manager: Operations Namibia Country Lodges Group obo Twyfelfontein Country Lodge

Does your hotel has wifi in room?
Dear Suzanneseeto Thank you for your question and also considering Twyfelfontein as accommodation establishment on your visit to Namibia . Due to its remoteness, the lodge unfortunately do not yet have WiFi available to guests. Our current internet connection runs via VSat and we have a limitation on bandwidth. Should someone however urgently need access to internet facilities or in case of an emergency, the lodge office is most willing to assist. The area does have cell phone reception, but data connection over the mobile network is limited to EDGE. We are in the process of negotiating better data services at the lodge to make WiFi available to our guests. Until we succeeded with these negotiations, we advise our guests to forget about the world outside, to relax in the open lounge with a cold drink or beer, and to enjoy the many spectacular moments the area has to offer. When do you intend visiting Twyfelfontein? Maybe we have WiFi available by that time. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you need any other information about the lodge or the area. Warmest Namibian Regards Riaan Brand Manager: Operations Namibia Country Lodges Group obo Twyfelfontein Country Lodge
