We planned on only staying at this place for about 2 days, because I am a SUPER budget traveler and didn't like the prices. I like to spend what the locals do, and this place far exceeds local prices. BUT, it is an amazing getaway at budget prices for travelers, and it is right on Lake Malawi. The dorms weren't...

The location by the lake is beautiful and we had a great afternoon on the boat trip. However there was no hot water, service for food was very slow indeed, WiFi is only available with if you have a sim from a specific provider, it is hard work clambering over very rocky paths around the site and it didn't feel...

We stayed two nights in an ensuite chalet. The room was cute (our bathroom was up a steep set of stairs and had indoor and outdoor shower) and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed happy hour and the sociability of Mayoka - most places we stayed at in Malawi were very quiet as it was low season. The good was...

Stayed for a weekend. I had stayed in Njaya lodge and saw Butterfly Space for a massage. It had a great relaxed atmosphere and was my favourite place out of the three. I thought the food was excellent. The boat excursion is well worth it. Although the walking up and down the stairs is a great for a workout do...

This is backpaker and before to write any guest review we have to take into consideration that it is not an easy job to manage such a guesthouse in Malawi ..... This guesthouse is a nice place where to stay. The bar and the "restaurant" are OK but we were expecting to have better rooms. We had 2 bedrooms and...

Beautiful lodge with a fairly secluded "beach" area. The shore is rocky, but you can swim or borrow their canoes, paddle boards, or snorkels. Reasonably priced rooms and good food. It's built on a hill so every room has a great view, but there are LOTS of stairs. It's located within walking distance of Nkhata Bay town, but they have...

Brilliant location, WONDERFUL and helpful staff, super affordable, and tons of FREE activities; Very rare to find a place like this, and the food was both delicious AND affordable! Seems like they are also very supportive of the village and the community, definitely a highlight of my trip!

This is definitely one of the best places I've ever stayed at. The complex is really cozy with all the cabins spread out on the rocks, the staff is so nice, the food is great (try their smoothies and guacamole toasts!) and the location couldn't be better. Also worth mentioning is how price-worthy all of this is! You can borrow...

Our 2nd visit and once again the only place we would stay at in Nkhatabay. Loads of freebies, like kayaks, boat trips, snorkel gear etc. Great staff that make sure they all come to you to personally greet you and introduce themselves. Real value for money, and an all round great stay. Thank you Catherine and the team.

What a fantastic place!!! It is an absolute paradise and totally affordable as well (you don't always get that). The first two nights I spent at Mayoka Village I slept in the dorm, which really was lovely, the beds are clean and super comfy and they clean the dorm every day, which is a treat for a backpacker! After spending...
