Palm Beach is 12 km North of Mangochi. It has a variety of single- and double- roomed chalets and also a camp site. The site is well maintained but not as developed as other beach sites further up the shore around Monkey Bay. It is quiet, relaxing, and the fact that there seem to be several chalets with permanent residents...

We went to volunteer with Malawi Children's Village and Open Arms Nursery, just down the road. We stayed at Palm Beach Resort and were so pleased with the service, comfort and amenities for the whole family. To have running water, hot showers, incredible beach sunset views, all for a very reasonable price, was amazing. Diana even made vegetarian meals for...

I spent 4 nights at Palm Beach - and loved everything about it! Nice and clean chalets, good food and exceptionally friendly hosts. I can highly recommend this beautifully located place - the best I've ever come across along the Mangochi lake shore!

I have just spent a wonderful 3 days at this lovely resort. The thatched chalets are dotted amongst woods and are huge, very clean and comfortable. There is a lovely beach with pleasant views and the sunsets are amazing. The hosts, Diane and Gordan go out of their way to make you feel at home and I spent 3 enjoyable...

We have just spent 4 nights at Palm beach and cannot fault the attention we received from the new hosts di and Gordan. We spent relaxing evenings sharing stories and having drinks with the owners and other guests. If you like the personal touch then this hotel could be for you. While we were there the owners never stopped painting...

We had 4 nights here in March and it was an absolute nightmare. Glad to see it is under new management and may have improved slightly. We were not given any choice of meals - food was slung in front of us - whatever the owner's wife decided to cook for that day. Breakfast was dished out into your plate...

We have just spent the Easter week-end at Palm Beach, which is under new management and was also fully booked, with friends from Mocambique and what a fantastic time we all had!! The restaurant and bar areas are spotless and have been repainted, as have the toilets and camping facilities. The rooms, also repainted, have new linen, towels and curtains....
