Our first visit to The Gambia ,we chose this hotel due to the glowing reviews. We weren't disappointed. We stayed in a Macondo suite which was huge. Very large comfortable bed. Lovely big walk in shower and very pretty double sinks. Large balcony with table chairs and two sun beds. Wonderful view of the gardens and ocean. Loved hearing the...

We stayed at Ngala Lodge for the first time despite coming to The Gambia several times before. It's a beautiful hotel and the staff are lovely. We originally were in Suite 1 but had to move as we found the room very dark. This is due, in part to the amount of palm trees in the well established garden. Whilst...

We booked Ngala Lodge on a whim to 'try out' Gambia as a winter destination and are really pleased we did! The informal, warm welcome from John and Erica in the open air reception was very personal and started our week well, (especially after a horrendous journey due to ATC strike & refuelling issues)! Every member of staff in the...

We had eaten here several times but never stayed but due to change of flights we managed to add a few days here. The suite we had, (8), was huge and tastefully decorated, it had a small garden which then led onto the swimming pool and onto the restaurant, infact my only criticsicim was that on a moonless light there...

This was a surprisingly lovely find. Accommodation tasteful, large and clean. It's well maintained and actually does match the photos on the website. Excellent service and facilities. Site lovely with great artefacts around the place thanks to the eclectic and amusing taste of it's owner Peter. Food was lovely thanks to the staff and English chef Johnathan. The staff could...

I and two friends had a wonderful week here Feb 2017. Adults only, all suites (24)...4 lovely and spacious and light, 3 bit disappointingly dark and less appealing, but balconies able to link which was very good for us. Food super...international cuisine. Staff smiling ++, friendly professional and welcoming. Gardens quirky....all sorts of arty things around , from penguins (...

Quiet and restful place to stay. Beautiful surroundings with pretty gardens. Lovely people and fabulous food. And decking on the beach for sunbathing... it isn't a huge beach and you aren't encouraged to go in the sea because of the current... but a nice secluded spot (and a couple of pools nearby if you want a dip!). Hard to beat.

Ngala Lodge seems to be very well run by Erica. All the staff are a delight and very friendly. The food was excellent and the prawns and lobster dishes were quite outstanding. They made a great effort for our Christmas Eve dinner. The gardens, though devoid of all but common birds, are well maintained. Ngala is not without its drawbacks...

This Hotel deserves its 5 star reputation .(Earlier excellent reviews are well deserved ) Set in beautiful grounds overlooking the sea, with first class accommodation, excellent food and friendly yet professional service. My wife and I were on holiday when the then President Jemmah decided he was not going to honour the outcome of the election. Although there were obvious...
