Me and my mate stopped here from the 7th to the 14th December 2011. We had a great time. He used to come to this hotel with his late wife, and he told me that it had gone down hill a bit since he last went. It had 2 pools but one was out of use and looked like a... More

The hotel is practically shut due to poor management. We stayed here in April 2012 at the end of the tourist season and wish we hadn’t…! The hotel is in dire need of refurbishment and a fresh management team. The rooms are very tired, are not that clean and it seems everything is either damaged or not working. The staff... More

Summary: We heard rumors that the hotel is nearly bankrupt so this review may not be relevant after the spring of 2012 (if the ownership and the staff of the hotel has changed). Positive Things + OTG guys in front of the hotel. + Most of the staff. + Location. Negative things --- A few people in the staff! (always... More

The people just cannot do enough for you. The bumsters get a bit overwhelming at times but the best thing is to choose... More

This was our second Christmas at Sunbeach Hotel - the rooms could do with a refurb - but this is more than made up for by the very friendly staff team - many recognised us from the year before and warmly welcomed us back. Pool area was kept clean and tidy and the Christmas gala dinner was great - a... More

We’ve spent several holidays and visited several hotels in the Gambia over the last twenty years, and our recent stay at the Sunbeach (January 2012) was one of the most enjoyable. Its two greatest assets are its location (on the headland where the River Gambia meets the Atlantic) and the staff (the friendliest and most helpful we’ve met since the... More

“What can i say !!!! Do Not go to this hotel, we walked through to look after staying there a few years ago !! the place is near enough closed.. there is hardly any staff, after speaking to the few people staying there, "the electricity is hardly ever working" the pool looks filthy as well as the rooms, the place is near enough closed !! what a terrible shame. This used to be one of the best hotels in the area... lets hope somebody gets in htere soon and sorts this place out !!”

“we asked for pool/sea view and whilst the view of the sea was slightly obstructed by the pool and other buildings it was a lovely central position - sea view rooms were further away from the restaurants and reception building - but as the resort is not vast nowhere is far to walk”
