My husband and I stayed at The Fine Thread in July for a mini-vacation. We found the building to be well kept, very clean, and cozy. When we arrived we were asked when we wanted breakfast so we picked a time and assumed no one else was staying here, since other B&B's we have stayed at serve everyone at once....

My partner spoke with one of the owners, Mark, on two occasions before we arrived. We told him our arrival time, and he told us he would not be there when we arrived but told us where the keys would be and which room was ours. He never mentioned parking. We pulled into the driveway, which is narrow and decided...

My husband and I stayed at The Fine Thread by "default". The B & B we booked did not have a room for us when we arrived, so they called and put us up at The Fine Thread. Helen and Mark were very nice, very helpful and accommodating. We stayed in the Rose room. It was a quite large and...

We traveled during the winter which is the off season but it did not seem to bother the owners at all. they had our room nice and toasty when we arrived. They did everything in their power to make our stay enjoyable. They offered nice restaurants that were within walking distance even in the cold. the collected flyers for local...

The Fine Thread will provide everything you want in a b&b. The b&b is located within walking distance of both Hammondsport's central shopping area and the local swimming area on Keuka Lake. The owners are very friendly, and very willing to help you find a restaurant or things to do such as wine trips or the Glenn Curtiss Museum. The...

We were on a wedding anniversary/bicycling weekend to the Finger Lakes. Because our trip was weather dependent, we originally made reservations at a motel in nearby Bath, NY. Needed something to cancel at the last minute if the weather didn't cooperate. We like staying at B&B's but sometimes the price just turns us off.......really hate to feel like we are...

The owners were very friendly, and did all they could to make our stay enjoyable. We were thrilled that we weren't required to stay 2 nights, which is very common with most B&Bs in the area. As expected from the pictures & the price, it was very homey & not fancy. If you don't mind a couple inconveniences (no nightstand...

Wonderful hosts who can't do enough to make you comfortable. Everything spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast made to order, served in the guest kitchen; a snack offered in the evening with fun conversation. Helen woke me up in the morning, and Mark even started my car, cleaned off the snow, and carried my bag. I was treated like a Queen!...

We planned our stay around a month and a half ahead of time. We had a party of 9, and just about no one was able to accommodate. We found Fine Thread on the Hammondsport Chamber of Commerce. Obviously, this place is not advertised very well. However, when we contacted the owner he was more than helpful, worked with us...

“The Rose Gallery room is only made for a couple but it is a larger, more comfortable room with the attached bath. Of the two rooms, I would request this room again.”

“Luxurious Landscapes room is laid out different than the picture, so there is no wall or backboard or chair/table beside bed. It includes an adjoining room with a double bed with AC (AC not in main room), so 2 couples or a family could stay here very reasonably. The bathroom for Lux Landscapes & adjoining room is across the hall & next to kitchen, so not completely private. The Rose Gallery has its own adjoining private bath. Bed wasn't the most comfortable (a little hard), but everything was clean & in good shape.”
