The staff will do all they can to make your stay comfortable. The Inn is gracious, old and a bit of a time warp, but really the only place I would recommend in town. The bar and restaurant are well appointed and comfortable, the rooms are small, but you will want to be out enjoying the town and the campus.... More

The Colgate Inn is a gem. If you're heading to Hamilton for a visit to Colgate or just in the area, check out the Inn. It's always been a centerpiece of town and after a recent renovation it's even better. Rooms are very nicely appointed and the lobby, bar and restaurant are all very nice.

Lovely historical inn in center of Hamilton. Rating average due to room. Small and lacking luster. A bit tired. Overlooked the roof and windows of other rooms so had to keep blinds closed. For over $300 a nite it was difficult to justify. Wanted the experience but won't return unfortunately.

We stayed while college touring and were so pleasantly surprised. The inn was lovely. Everyone was extremely helpful, accommodating and friendly. We would definitely stay again. The rooms were very nicely appointed but on the small side.

I recently participated in a bicycle ride across New York State and we spent one night at the Colgate Inn. The hotel is charming. It has definitely been well maintained. The room itself was small, but perfect for my wife and i (and my bicycle). The individuals at the front desk were also very welcoming. I have read several reviews... More

Recently spent three nights at the Colgate Inn, Room 34, which was conveniently located right across from the elevator. Check in was quick and uneventful, no need to present ID or a credit card. They handed over a real key to the room, not a room card. Very old school and neat. The inn is historic, but was recently updated,... More

We visited the Colgate Inn during a trip to upstate NY. The hotel is old and regal. Rooms are decorated in vintage furniture but is very clean and well appointed. Floors squeak due to age of the building but it is a beautiful hotel. The hotel is in the center of the village of Hamilton NY. Dining and night life... More

My high daughter and I traveled up to Hamilton to attend accepted students day at Colgate University and decided to stay in this beautiful historic inn. I was unaware when I booked it that is was owned by the college. We arrived on "Alumni night" so unfortunately there was no parking in the main lot and no one available to... More

I have stayed at the Colgate Inn about 10 times over the last three years as my son is a student at Colgate University. The decor of each room at the Inn is consistently furnished but the size of each room and bathroom are unique to the room. Room number 19 is quite spacious while room 15 is tiny and... More

I frequently stay at the Colgate Inn on business since it is the best hotel in 30 miles. The staff is great and helpful in finding interesting places to eat. Never have had a bad experience. You can workout at the well equipped Colgate University gym.
