The Bed and Breakfast hosts, Donna and Nelson Lawrence are delightful. The food is always wonderful, whether eggs and bacon with fresh fruit, or pancakes, fluffy and delicious, you can't lose. The rooms are what you would expect - clean and neat, and very much like staying at an aunt's house. The motel out back has a variety of rooms...

My first (and not last) stay at the Lawrence Manor was something I will never forget. It was not just somewhere to stay - it was an experience. The owners, Donna and Nelson, are truly experts at what they do. From the cooking to the accommodating to the authentic conversations. They have created something here that is priceless. The rooms...

What a great way to end a week long road trip (October 2015) through Vermont, New Hampshire and Upstate New York. On a recommendation from a friend we stayed two nights in the delightful Lawrence Manor and had such a great time and comfortable stay. We stayed in the Parker Suite and friends In Megan's Quilt room. The whole Manor...

We had two rooms upstairs in the main house. Very nicely - traditionally - decorated, and comfortable, with tv's and wireless. Breakfast was excellent. It's also a good place to get the behind-the-scenes news of Gouverneur.

This was our first visit to the Lawrence Manor and it definitely will not be our last. We loved the place and our hosts, Donna and Nelson. We picked Lawrence Manor because it is DOG FRIENDLY.Our Fox Terrier, Patch, was as warmly received as were we. We were housed in "The Pink House" across the street from the main building....

...was in Gouverneur. Who would have thought that the most excellent hosting couple set up their (Lawrence) Manor hospitality business here? And boy... what a great hospitality. Super friendly staff (owners themselves), the rooms are breathtakingly beautiful arranged with super confy beds and than in the morning you just get overwhelmed with your private dining room breakfast (sleep in the...

Stayed in Gouverneur on a business trip and requested to stay at the motel portion of Manor. Very friendly staff! Was there early and was allowed to check in prior to normal check in time. Room was very clean, bed was cozy- nice little place to stay in town!

Donna and Nelson welcome their guests like friends. The house and rooms are done in a gracious Victorian décor. The rooms are well appointed and the rates are reasonable. Many of our Travelers from Gouverneur Hospital stay at the attached motel or in the suites and have been very pleased.
