My husband and I stayed here for three nights and we had a really wonderful time! We were given the Honeymoon Suite, which was a pleasant surprise. The tented room was really comfortable. The service was great, staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. Our guide was good, although not as personable, patient, or experienced as a guide we...

Themba and Bee were such awesome hosts. The staff is also so congenial and so wonderfully helpful. Themba was also our guide and he is awesome at tracking wildlife. Also, coming into the park we had a five hour ride with Livingstone who was so helpful and so knowledgeable. Meal time is quite elegant. Food is tops. The waterhole in...

Dear Angeles, Thank you for your fabulous review, we will be sure to pass along your kind words to Themba, Bee and all our staff at Little Mak. What an amazing experience. First trip to Africa, first camp. A little unsure at first, but not a worry. Your own tent, a full size bed, toilet, two showers (one inside one outside). No phone, no internet, no cable. Truly elegant setting, except that you are in the middle of nowhere. Catered to from arrival to departure. As to the...

Charles our guide was very knowledgable and extremely patient. He was a star. The camp is stunning and the staff wonderful providing both comfort and really very good food. We were lucky enough to see lion, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, elephant, caracal, etc, etc and the birdlife was stunning. If you can you really need to go. Fab!!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Charming and intimate, Little Makalolo's location in the south-east of Hwange lends it a sense of seclusion and remoteness. Nestled into the treeline, the camp overlooks a productive waterhole that draws large numbers of wildlife, observed up close from the log-pile hide. Elephant, buffalo, giraffe and zebra are regular visitors, while special sightings include sable, roan and eland. The area is best explored on game drives and guided walks, with special extras like an unexpected pizza or a night spent under the stars on the Madison Pan star-bed platform. • 6 tents (1 family) • game drives • nature walks • Madison Pan star-bed • log-pile hide • village visits ... more   less
