Having stayed at various B&Bs around New York there are certain things we have come to expect from a B&B where the Big Tree Inn just doesn't measure up. 1. I made my reservation online several weeks earlier. On my reservation I made special reference to wanting the Bethia Room. Upon arrival they had us in the Mark Twain Room....

We stopped at the inn for one night, bringing our freshman daughter to college from Thanksgiving break. Arrived late, very tired, had dinner, the food sounded fancy, but turned out to be very disappointing. Literally one minute that we walked into our room on the 3rd floor we received a phone call that "your kids" were too noisy. We figured...

We ate at the tavern. It's the same menu plus a pub menu. Let's skip to the part where there was hair in the food, service is not good. Just bc there are two table doesn't mean customers should see you sitting behind the bar reading a newspaper and our drinks are empty twice. The food was not edible we sent...

We were here for 3 nights in the Mark Twain Room No. 308. It's a large spacious room with a huge jacuzzi in the room, nice closet space and large bath. The inn has 8 rooms. They were very responsive. I sat in the lobby one afternoon and they brought me a pot of tea. One complaint is that the...

We did not stay there, although we intend to. The property looks magnificent. Since we came after 9pm, we only had time for drinks. The tavern is very old with lots of character. Great bartender and ggreat selection of NY craft beer. Has a great veranda facing the main street to eat or dink. A classy place to get a...

Was just there week 8/17. Had King room village view. Great Bed, plenty of room. Large bathroom. Jacuzzi tub in room. Really nice staff. Incredible parlor downstairs, that is usually unused. Cost for this incredible room in town was $20 more than the Quality Inn. Spend it!

My family and I were in Geneseo for our son's wedding, and we took all of the rooms at The Big Tree for the weekend. The Big Tree also was the venue for the reception. We spent 4 nights total and the rest of the clan came for two nights. We could not have been happier. We enjoyed all the...

Stayed in Bethia the night of our wedding (our reception was also at Big Tree and it was amazing) and Village View the night after. Both rooms are decorated with beautiful quality linens, furniture, and decor. Used the fireplace in Village View and it felt so cozy. Bed was definitely comfortable, we had a wonderful night's sleep. Fixtures in both...

My husband and I booked the village suite at the big tree since we were visiting my family in the area and wanted somewhere to relax for a couple nights. Overall it was great. We love rooms with hot tubs in them, so I've started looking for that when I book a bnb. The jaccuzi tub was one of the...

“King. I hear standard rooms are small.”
of 5 bubbles googlife, 26 Aug 2014 | Read review
“The rooms are separated in an interesting way, so there aren't many rooms near each other. The Concord Coach is a small room - with a full-sized bed. The Seneca has two twins, but they can be pushed together into a King. All other rooms had either Q or K beds. If you don't care about a jacuzzi - stay in the MacVittie. The Mark Twain is probably the largest, and is at the top of the stairs - sort of on its own.”
