The Craftsman Inn & Suites has earned a reputation for its inviting Craftsman decor and cozy ambiance, making it a hit with guests who also enjoy the improved breakfast options. However, the charm does not overshadow the concerns expressed about the datedness of the rooms and maintenance issues. While the friendly staff receives accolades, the lack of daily housekeeping and the quality of toiletries have been noted. Guests commend the hotel's value, acknowledging reasonable rates, though some suggest that certain services are overpriced and that the inn could benefit from modern upgrades.

I stayed here recently on a business trip and could not have been happier, especially during a pandemic.
The front desk staff was most welcoming and my spacious suite was spotlessly clean. The buffet breakfast has been replaced by a more than adequate selection of individually wrapped items.
We enjoyed outdoor dining, in mid-December, at the awesome Craftsman Wood Grill.
Looking forward to another stay!

We spent two nights at the Craftsman and had a wonderful stay. The rooms are beautifully appointed and include Stickley furnishings that are very comfortable, classy and inviting.

The staff is very professional, accommodating and friendly including the front desk, breakfast area, and cleaning staff.

We were very pleased with the hotel and the restaurant next door on the property. We will definitely stay here again when we come to Central New York.

Rooms beautiful and very clean.
The front desk seemed a little chaotic at times.
They were out of coffee for rooms, some of the breakfast items and clerk did not know if the ice machine was working. Little thing but kinda annoying considering the rates of the rooms.
But a nice place in a great location. Shopping, gas, restaurants right next door.

We stayed here recently, I called and book a FULL suite weeks prior, however upon arrival the clerk made it sound like we were “upgraded” at no cost to us due to our room not being available. When it fact we were “downgraded” to a standard room from the full suite with kitchen we had stayed in prior. No, there was no compensation or change in rate. When asked could we be moved to the original room that we had previously booked we were told none were available for the entire week. How’s that possible when I booked this room weeks in advance?? Granted, it would not have been an issue, however under the new orders you are required to quarantine at the hotel- hence WHY I booked a room with a kitchen. Also, the staff did NOT attempt to call in advance to let me know any issues.

So if you book here know that they will change your accommodations to what they see fit WITHOUT notifying the customer. Had I know prior to arrival I would have booked somewhere else or an Airbnb that could accommodate our request.

I was really looking forward to staying at the craftsman it looked cute, clean, and a short drive from work. However, on my first night I noticed an old pair of socks tossed under the bathroom vanity. I mentioned this to the concierge Ronnie and they offered to remove the socks, change the towels, and clean the bathroom; however I worked a 16 hour day and had no interest in engaging with anyone. The next day I noticed a red, jam like spot crusted into their mosaic tiles. For the price of these rooms they really should be spotless. Another issue I had was with the breakfast again other similarly priced hotels offer more in the way of hot breakfast. They had microwaveable breakfast sandwiches, fruit, cold hard boiled eggs, bagels, and some instant oatmeal. Maybe it’s inflation, but I stay at a lot of hotels for work and by comparison this was very disappointing. The bed was super comfortable, but I think for the price I could stay at another hotel, and have a clean room, and better options for hot breakfast.

Found this very attractive restaurant on a day out with my wife. Our meals and the service were excellent, so much so we returned a week later with another couple. We bragged so much about our first meal, we were excited to share our find.
Although it was a weekday, the restaurant was fairly busy, we were seated promptly, ordered drinks and an appetizer to share. Our meals took a bit of time to be served, which was ok as we enjoyed socializing with our guests. Of our four meals, some items were good, however, two of the sides, french fries were cool and a vegetable side was not even heated, it had been taken from the refrigerator, plated and served. This was brought to the server’s attention and it was corrected. It just put a damper on the rest of the meal. I hate returning items, but this was unacceptable. Unfortunately, our second experience didn’t come close to our first visit. This restaurant isn’t inexpensive, and for what we paid, better quality control is warranted. Will we go back? Maybe.

For the price point of around $200/night we found this Inn ok but not excellent. the place has been sharply renovated and is clean and well appointed. the tv works great and the in room amenities including a small fridge all worked well for us. Service was good if not great (not especially friendly or otherwise noteworthy). The free breakfast could be good but was not. they had a waffle maker and hot oatmeal which were good. the pastries were very lackluster though and serving the juice etc. in plastic cups was pretty cheap. very little selection in cold cereal. My wife had to hunt around to get a cup of coffee later in the day. there was a coffee maker in the room but no kuerig coffee packets. so, she went to the lobby but the coffee was not made there and no cream left anywhere she could get to it. the next day the cream in the room was curdled. we ate at the restaurant next door which is a very nice space (outside seating area has a full bar with outside heaters so that folks can be outside even in winter). lunch there was ok. i had the black bean burger and my wife had a salad both of which were good but not excellent. great beer selection and the french fries were really good. with a little more attention to the small details around breakfast and some super friendly service this place could be a fantastic spot. we will give it another try to see if they get the kinks out.

We stayed for 5 days and had 2 rooms. We arrived after a long drive later in the day and the rooms were not ready, which was ok. We left and came back a few hours later - still not ready. Ok no problem we understand. We finally did check in around 8pm. Then we were really surprised that there was NO service available. That is, they stopped offering service during Covid, and just never started it again, but we could have it if we wanted it, but you have to request it. We requested it the first day - they only gave us some towels, bed not touched, garbage cans still there, etc. We requested it the next day - not done at all. Only 1 of 4 days did they do what we asked. I find it unreasonable for such a place to charge $200 and then not provide any services especially if people stay in places for days and days (you don’t not clean your house for days). Breakfast was ok, was bagels and muffins and stuff like that, was fine, but doesn’t at all overcome the cleaning service issues. People at the front desk were nice and apologetic and I don’t blame them (it is a management/owner issue), and i believe the root cause was not enough workers to help, but then if you can’t provide the proper level of service put it on your website and/or adjust your prices to a basic level of a motel basically.

My wife and I were deeply disappointed by the hotel for 3 reasons. First, the walls are thin and we heard noise from our neighbors. Second, the door to the bathroom in our room was warped causing it to make a loud noise when it opened and closed. Third, the breakfast was truly appalling. The juice was watered down, breakfast sandwiches were inedible, and there was not much else. We ended up spending money to ear breakfast at Starbucks. Bottom line chains such as Red Roof and Quality Inn provide substantially better breakfasts. We will not stay at this hotel again.

My husband and I were traveling to the area for a concert and needed a place to stay with our dog. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. We had only a few issues during our stay. 1) The tv is across from the bed and not visible from the living area. We asked for someone to come and move it or move the huge mirror on the wall or provide another mirror so we could see what we were hearing from the living area and we were not accommodated. 2) The bathroom sink is too close to the toilet and I almost cracked my elbow on it several times. 3) There is alot of wasted empty floor space that could have been used to expand the average sized bathroom. 4) There was no staff at the front desk at night and noone answered the interior line when we called to ask questions. This made us feel unsafe and annoyed. 5) Lastly, we had dinner at the hotel restaurant on our first night there and everything came out cold and/or overdone. The manager quickly came over and apologized profusely and assessed whether we wanted new versions of what we had ordered or new items. We chose new items that were very tasty and we gobbled them up. I highly recommend the bone-in ribeye. I also highly recommend the drinks which were enjoyable throughout the evening. The manager that we worked with was Dan and he is in fact, the man. He comped half our bill and each time we ran into him throughout our weekend stay, he came right over to check on us. He made all the difference and I therefore can recommend that if you want a delightful meal with pleasant ambiance and friendly staff, try the Craftsman Inn's own beautiful restaurant. The outside patio alone is worth a few drinks. I also recommend Vito's which is a very close drive to this hotel and they have the most delicious italian food! Bon Apetit!
