We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, initially only intended to stay a night but Sheila was so accommodating that we decided we would stay an extra night. Really comfortable accommodation with beautiful views over the valley. Sheila was a great host, making jokes and giving anecdotes About her life, family and the village, gave the stay a really personal touch for which I am grateful. Even got me to take my hat off at the table, even my mum has a hard time doing that. 🤣 Breakfast was great and she could cater for vegan diets with a heads up. I recommend this lovely B+B in the peaks. And a huge Thank you to Sheila for making us all feel welcome. Troy.

After a long day, Sheila was more than happy to pick me up after a quick phone call. Was made to feel very welcome, the room had everything a solo Pennine way walker needs. Comfortable bed, great shower, and a hot radiator. Had a great meal in the Peel arms just round the corner and a great breakfast cooked by sheila in the morning. In an annex attached to the side of the house with your own access without feeling like you're disturbing anyone. Sheila also dropped me back off in the morning at a time that suited me. A great stay.

Shiela is happy to pick up walkers from the Pennine Way and return them the following day. I arrived soaking wet and drying my clothes was no problem. Then I was able to have a bath - perfect. Good supper at pub very short walk away and in the morning delicious home cooked breakfast. What's not to like?!

Well where do I start. This lady made our stay so lovely and welcoming. Lovely comfortable room, a BATH, and a superb breakfast. I could not fault this stay at all. I felt like i was visiting family! Of all my stays on the pennine way, this one will stay with me forever. What a lovely lovely lady 😁

In July, I rode the Pennine Bridleway with my two ponies. White House Farm, Padfield, was the location of my 3rd night, and the 1st without any human companions (my family headed home earlier in the day, to leave me to my fate!!) We clip clopped through the quiet streets of Padfield, in the drizzle, very late, like a modern day cowgirl, quite dejected and very tired after a long and hard day of tough riding. After a night in Sheila's lovely b and b, a wonderful breakfast for me, and a good rest and belly full of grass for the ponies, we were all fully revived and ready for more challenges!!
