We booked here to celebrate a birthday with good food and drink and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good choice of food and drink. We Didn't think it was overly expensive. People with dogs ate in the bar area and we ate in the restaurant. It had a good ambience. We enjoyed...

Went here today for sunday lunch and it was truly excellent. Baby-friendly, dog-friendly and a great atmosphere. The roast beef was excellent - generous portions, top quality beef, and it arrived quickly and was top value considering it wasn't expensive. But what makes this place so good is the friendly staff. We were made to feel very welcome and were...

Good choice of food on the menu however a little pricey and only had two bottles of red wine available, one at £29.95 and another at £24, however there was a house red for £18.95 which we settled for. Also only one bitter available. The food we enjoyed, so we would revisit when in the area.

Sorry for delay in the review but needs must. Nice charming old country pub with a nice cosy feel inside. Only a couple of people dining in the bar area as the restaurant side was being used by a shooting party. The food menu is on a large blackboard and we chose our starters and main courses when the bar...

We often stay in a cottage in Browning and usually end the holiday with a slap up meal here. It is a lovely pub and is dog friendly. The food is absolutely delicious and whilst not being the cheap end of the market it is excellent value for money. If you go here in high season you have to book.

What a great recommendation by our b&b. There is a huge blackboard menu to choose from and the place is very inviting and cosy. We had a scallop dish and prawn cocktail to start both really tasty and then steaks, cooked to perfection for our mains, gorgeous onion rings too. Never made it to dessert. Will certainly being going back...

Very friendly, accommodating staff. The food is of the very best quality and there is a good selection of local beers, too. We visited at Christmas and the atmosphere was lovely. Dogs are welcome too.

We went to the postgate for a family meal, we got a warm welcome initially but service was not great, the menu is on black boards in the middle of the pub which causes congestion, we were told someone would come over and take our order in a few minutes , which turned into 25 minutes. My meal and my...

My family (12 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs) and I had planned a walk from Goathland to Egton calling in at pubs along the way to celebrate my mums 70th birthday. I rang a couple of days before our trip to check The Postgate Inn (a pub I had never visited before) would be open and I spoke to...
