Booked via Secret Escapes as a DB&B deal for £79. Room basic, but had a lovely country view. Bed & bedding ok. Shower v.good, but basin had lge crack in it. Room tired but adequate, however you can hear traffic and guests in corridor or closing doors - therefore would not return to venue. Staff in bar & restaurant pleasant.... More

Popped into The Blue Boar as we were visiting nearby, such a pretty exterior! The menu was varied from typical pub food to inspired fine dining dishes.I loved my scallops on a bed of flavoured mash with salad, and my partner enjoyed a wholesome steak with all the trimmings.Stefano, our waiter could not have been more helpful, helping us decide which wine to order... Comfortable room - stair case very seep. Old world charm with plenty of local characters at the bar. Food reasonably priced and good. Staff very attentive and friendly. Close to Stratford Upon Avon - so will probably go back again.

I was fortunate to stay here on Business while working in the area . Rooms are large, scrupulously clean, nicely decorated and homely. Large bathroom with a bath and shower, which is rare these days. Good size desk to work on with plug sockets. I ate a delicious vegetarian risotto in the bar in the evening , made fresh with... More

This a coaching inn slightly of the beatan track, the resturant is basic [ie not tablecloths and linen napkins] but clean and comfortable. The inital welcome was not as professional as one might expect but did improve as the evening went on. But when the food came we were astounded at how good it was, we had Whitebaite to start,... We fell on this restaurant through Tastecard. To get the food at 2 for 1 was an excellent bonus. With hindsight would still have gone at the full price. Super service and really well presented food. Would certainly visit again even at the full price.

We were staying local to the inn and it was recommended to us. The service was slow especially when waiting for drinks. The starters and desserts were good but the mains were all disappointing. I ordered a mixed grill done medium and it arrived over cooked. Only the fajitas were tasty and we had to ask for an extra wrap... More

We were impressed by the age of the hotel; it was charming to look at and the restaurant was inviting. We spent the night in the inn which proved to be a disappointment; the bed was hard as a board, the door to the bathroom was off its rollers and kept getting stuck. The wireless didn't work and no one... More

The food and service we had at a lunchtime midweek was exceptional to say the least. Food delicious, very well presented and the staff were delightful. It is so nice to find a place that is also reasonably priced. We shall return I hope and take the family. I am not able to rate the accommodation as we were using... More
