Wonderful afternoon teas served in a lovely venue, good, friendly service, home cooked fayre, lovely furnishings and a good cup of tea. Set in the picturesque countryside provides a perfect afternoon outing. Reasonably priced.

If you want to experience a chef who serves soup at the same temperature as the surface as the sun that means you'll actually blister your lips when you try and eat it, along with a dry tasteless burger and then deal with an offhand, ever so-slightly arrogant male member of staff then get yourself booked in. Fair enough they...

Excellent Sunday lunch (roast lamb) with good service and nice garden setting to sit outside in the summer. Reasonably priced and excellent drinks from the bar. Staff have good sense of humour, especially the owner who waits on tables.

I phoned few days before as in a large party to eat to ask about a vegan meal. Was told they could accommodate. When I arrived the only option was Mediterranean pasta. Was told it was vegan. Was actually brought out rice swimming in grey liquid with lettuce floating on top. Presumably the pasta option had dairy products in. Was...

We stayed for two nights following a family recommendation and as a country base for a visit to Stratford on Avon. Really nice quiet country location only ten minutes from town. Very typical country pub just as one imagines with all the attributes one expects in a four hundred year old building. We ate in the restaurant both nights and...

Took family here for Boxing Day. We were very unimpressed with the large thick slices of meat and inedible Yorkshire pudding. There was no effort to even try to make the meal look appealing. Hoping for better things with dessert we ordered chocolate fudge cake which was substituted with another chocolate dessert, equally tasteless. The staff seemed totally indifferent to...

Had our Christmas Lunch there today. It's been a tough year family-wise. We have eaten at the Blue Boar a number of times over the past few months and have always found it a cheery place and the food unexpectedly good and have always left feeling revived and smiling. Woke up this morning not really ready to face this particular...

Booked evening meal here on spec, hadn't been before. Food was very good. I had the 'pie of day' which was good although perhaps maybe a little too salty for some. Not at all busy, but it was midweek,
