Superb from start to finish. Cannot speak highly enough of all the staff, we were treated like royalty. Magnificent surroundings, service second to none. We had the seasonal lunch which was delicious. We cannot wait to return again.

Stayed for 2 nights (Fri & Sat). Lovely period room on top floor. 3 superb period reception rooms all with a very tranquil ambience to them. Excellent selection of breakfast items. Dinner choices limited but the food itself was well presented and flavoursome. Drinks a little on the pricey side as were the wines. Good selection of wines. WOULD DEFINITELY...

We have just returned home from a lovely 24 hour break at Hartwell House. Fantastic visit which started with a warm welcome at the front desk by 'Warwick"and being told we had been up graded to a lovely, large four posted bedroom. Lovely food, a relaxed atmosphere and great service lead to a very enjoyable over night stay. Thank you...

We recommend this very highly. We had a room upgrade and overlooked the front of the hall. The decor was splendid with lovely furniture and pictures. We were very well looked after, with tea brought to our room. We had a lovely evening meal in the grand dining room, with pre-dinner drinks and canapes in the morning room.

As a member of the National Trust, spotted an advert for this wonderful hotel. So enjoyed a short break at Hartwell House, what luxury, what elegance, what comfort. The grounds are magnificent, and there is a ruined Church, a lake, many old trees, but in a wet January, not able to fully explore. Our bedroom was huge, overlooking the park...

The Good: Great building, rich in history. Beautifully kept grounds. Well presented and spacious rooms. Convenient location from London. The Bad: Very disappointing food service. We waited over 40mins between starters and our main courses. It was only until we asked on their whereabouts were we told that one meal was being re-cooked (by which time we were fed up...

I went only for lunch to recapture some memories of 10 years ago when I stayed a few nights. Back then it was fantastic and high end Spa and relaxation venue. The lunch was a tad underwhelming and whilst the House is stunning, the trappings are tired and in need of an uplift. Loads of potential for someone to revitalise...

Hartwell House is the perfect place to spoil your other half without getting too far away from London. Recommended for adults only and this place is not exactly for children. Upon arrival we found parking easy although there was a small 30 second walk to the main entrance. We were greeted with this big door (think Downton Abbey, 17th century...

Stayed here on a special Relais et Chateaux offer for dinner, bed and breakfast. The manor is jaw dropping in its scale and stature. The hotel room was beautiful, we were upgraded to a suite, old fashioned but very charming. The meals were good but not outstanding. Service was patchy. Staff tried hard but appeared to lack professionalism.
