Booked this hotel for a special occasion to spend with friends. The rooms in the main building are all different but everyone grand and luxurious. The 3 reception rooms are really impressive and beautiful (my favourite one is the morning room, followed by the library) If you want a special treat i hazily suggest the suite (there are 4 one...

We stayed at Hartwell House for the nights of 25th and 26th October, a birthday treat. It didn't disappoint. Although we were on a deal and were at the top of the hotel, the room was beautiful and the views over the grounds lovely. Modern amenities, delicious food, comfortable lounges and the park was designed by Capability Brown. The staff...

I took my wife to Hartwell House to celebrate her special 70th birthday. We stayed for a night with dinner. Fine food well served in a pleasant restaurant. The staff were very friendly and proactive. Our room was really large overlooking the grounds of this historic building. Breakfast was excellent. The full English is highly recommended. It all added up to...

We didn't stay in the hotel but my family and I came here for a surprise meal for my grandparents and what a lovely experience it was. The view is beautiful, the house is gorgeous, the interior is original and beautiful and the food was so yummy! We had three courses and would recommend the food there.

Booked this off trip advisor at short notice. A very special place but can't quite put my finger on why. Lots of lovely lounges with open fires to relax in. Grade 1 features throughout. Lovely grounds. It's a little spartan and dark in places but it all works somehow. Restaurant great at the price. Not Michelin starred but possibly not...

Breakfast was delicious with a...

My friend and I visited Hartwell House yesterday(7/10/16) and had a lovely time. My friend's 3 year old daughter came. Now although we didn't realise the policy of children 6 and over the Assistant Manager, Adam, very nicely let Caitlin come in and have tea with us. My friend was really impressed with everything. All the staff were amazing and...

The building is wonderful as are the grounds . Our room was very spacious ,clean and bright. The bathroom was nice, and very clean. Staff were very helpful , The Bar is not the type to "have a few drinks" and the surrounding rooms available ( see images ) though very pleasant are not the "social" type. Dinner is where...

Historic setting, lovely grounds, Country House decor, attentive staff, excellent dining setting and food quality and presentation, most expensive wine list in county (at least). Extra pleasure is canapes/drinks in one of the period drawing rooms. The down side is that it is overpriced and they automatically include the service charge in the invoice and when we were there for...
