I arranged a party for 16 friends at Hartwell House; we had lunch, the afternoon at leisure, dinner and stayed overnight.I cannot praise the hotel more, everything was just perfect and the staff, 'bend over backwards' to ensure that everything was just right. The hotel is spotless and run like an English Country House, the lunch and dinner were absolutely...

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Hartwell House and slept in the room where Marie-Therese, Duchess d'Angouleme (eldest daughter of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVIth) used to sleep... such an experience in itself. But what threw us was the genuine kindness of the staff, and their amazing attention to detail - my husband has a diary allergy, and...

We recently went to a private dinner party here and overnight stay. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. They were warm and helpful. The house itself is lovely with lots of history but the grounds and terrace views were my favourite part. There is a spa and pool in another building which was a real treat....

Stayed on business for a company function. Superb setting and buildings. My room was a little small and in need of refreshing. However some of my colleagues had terrifically appointed suites so guess that was just my bad luck with the company booking! Good professional service and high quality food served attentively by well trained waiters. No draught beers available...

As a hotel, you are already onto a winner on the review front when your guests are being whisked away for a very generous freebie weekend to help celebrate their dear friends' 25th wedding anniversary with approximately 40 other people. However, lovely company aside, everything about the weekend was sensational. The hotel building is stunning and serene, set in extensive...

I must start by saying that I consider Hartwell House to be a very special place. We stayed, for our third visit, for two nights this weekend with friends. I adore the public rooms, my favourites being the Great Hall and the Library, where we had drinks on the first night. We were upgraded to a Royal room, the Tapestry...

Booked a table for the Seasonal Lunch (£26 a head) and wasn't disappointed. The food was excellent and the staff went out of there way to make sure you were being looked after. So go -on, dress up a bit and pretend it's your Downton Abbey. Then you will realise what it must have been like in the early 1900's.

We were celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary and were made to feel like Royalty. Our room was spacious with a balcony and Caperbility Brown view of the estate. The food and service were remarkable the equal of Park Lane in London. The spa was like a Greek temple with an overhead view from a café serving food and drinks all...

Absolutely had a excellent night stay here on DBB package. I cannot fault a thing. Room was perfect. Food was amazing both dinner and breakfast and the staff were all delightful and so helpful! I stayed with a friend for a weekend shopping at Bicester Village. Had planned to stay in Waddesdon but they were closed for a private function...
