A beautiful setting. A promising seat right next to the fire however we visited in January and the room was freezing cold! most of the guests in the room looked like they were shivering! we made the best of it and looked forward to our cream tea. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh but a little bit uninspiring , the...

Hartwell isn't far away so we go there from time to time for lunch and have stayed there a couple of times before. This was another overnight stay - long celebration lunch, drinks in the evening and staying in one of the corner rooms, Duchesse d'Angouleme. The whole experience was great, as were the staff from the welcome on arrival...

I stayed in one of the royal rooms and the experience was incredible. Being able to experience the Jane Austen/Downton Abbey life was so much fun. The staff were delightful, the public rooms were stunning, the spa was a delight, and the bedroom was the most luxurious time imaginable. I highly recommend it.

Very well looked after by the attentive staff. Dining room and general ambience of Hartwell House has an olde world charm. Range of lunch options ranging from £25 per head upwards for two course meal without drinks. Food very good and definitely worth a visit, probably need to book. Recommended

A very special place to visit, my wife and I together with two friends had the most wonderful dinner. The food was excellent and the staff could not have been more attentive but were not intrusive although always at hand if you needed anything. You would have to go a long way to find its equal. Not cheap but good...

Really fantastic hotel which oozes class and style....Food is to die for.... With service at the top of the tree with a great French maitre d who runs the restaurant with great presence. The only complaint I would have is that all staff disappear at 1045 and the service just crumbles....We retired to the impressive lounges and sat down in our...

We had a family celebration to attend and booked ourselves two nights at Hartwell house. We had the most amazing time chilling out in the drawing rooms, walking in the grounds and sampling the first rate cuisine. As a coeliac I had complete confidence that everything I ate was safe for me. As a couple we are planning to repeat...

We stayed for a weekend break as a group of 4 and enjoyed the charm and atmosphere of this wonderful hotel. Historic, National Trust, beautiful surroundings and a wonderful calm tranquility that is very often lost in larger hotels. We had 2 twin-rooms, whilst both were the same category, one was double the size (nos. 9 and 11) however, both...
