I can not begin to say enough good things about our experience at Xigera. The tents were amazing, food was delicious, guides were exceptional and everything else in between was beyond belief. The day started early and was full of animal encounters and great experiences. The tents were beautifully decorated with plenty of room and beautiful views from everywhere. I...

Xigera Camp located in the heart of the Okavango Delta is the perfect destination for water lovers. While game drives are available, in fact, the drive from the air strip to the boat which takes you to camp is a game drive, water based experiences are at the heart of this camp. Xigera is located on an island and provides...

Xigera is not a top-notch camp at rates making you poor. OK, it's not cheap either - but what you get for the money is a really nice experience. If you've travelled to wilderness-camps before - you know what you get. The team and their spirit is really magic. We were lucky and have been the only guests for our...

Dear Bilderland, Sorry your stay with us was unavoidably shortened, but glad to see that even though it was only one night it was a magical one. That hopefully made up a little for the previous inconveniences experienced. We hope you will visit us again and for a longer stay so that we can show you more of the magic...

This is an amazing camp in the delta. Bird life is excellent. Lodge and staff were amazing, the food is excellent. The highlights for us was the makoro trip which was so peaceful, we had a wonderful sighting of a baby Croc that just sat on a raft of weeds for us to take photos of him. But the magic...

Dear Susan, Thank you for your fabulous review and recount of your amazing sightings we are delighted you were able to see the new cub additions to our area. Mmadiphala, our resident female leopard, showed up and entertained guests a few times. And not wanting to be left out, her daughter showed off her two new cubs, much to the...

We stayed at several of the Wilderness camps...Xigera Camp was delightful. The location is stunning, the water activities were fascinating, and sometimes felt a little dangerous (hippos under water, oh my). We enjoyed meeting Petunia, the camp hippo. Our room was amazing, the guides and everyone was so kind and generous. Great food and lots of spirits/wine whenever you wanted...

We spent 2 nights at Xigera Camp and it was a dream. Such a beautiful place in the heart of the magnificent Okavongo Delta. The camp is fabulous. You have the visit of the elephants and hippos. Thank you Figaro75, for your amazing review, we are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us as well as your time spent on adventure with Rueben. We'd been on safari in Southern Africa previously, but really wanted to experience the true spirit of the Delta, and Xigera and its staff delivered on all fronts. It's as magical as the photos look - and the days spent on the water are truly memorable: great wildlife sightings (not much big game), and wonderful birding. The lodge itself is...

Deep in the Delta, surrounded by crystal-clear channels of water and lush vegetation, Xigera Camp is the quintessential Okavango experience. This blue-green world is home to a number of water-loving Okavango 'specials' including spotted-necked otter, Pel's fishing-owl, wattled crane and the Delta's highest concentration of the elusive sitatunga antelope. Situated on the aptly-named Paradise Island, the almostyear-round water makes this the ideal camp for exploring by motor boat and mokoro (dugout canoe) - an idyllic connection to a bygone era that allows silent and tranquil progress across waterlily-dotted waters. •10 tents (1 family) • mokoro • motorboat • game drives (water dependent) ... more   less
