This lodge is fantastic the staff went out of there way to accommodate my husband who has a disability. The rooms and food were excellent. We saw all the big cats and a large pack of wild dogs. We saw a Male lion on a kill and we found his brother some way off calling for you the sound of...

Can't say enough about Chitabe and the staff. We stayed at 3 camps in Botswana in March 2016 and Chitabe was by far the best from all standpoints. We saw many animals (lion, cheetah, leopard), the camp was immaculate and so welcoming. Staff was wonderful, great food. Would love to return and can't recommend highly enough.

Chitabe Camp, with its elevated walkways, left me feeling like I was staying in the trees. The views from my charming and beautiful room were gorgeous; especially in the heat of midday when the baboons came out to play, what fun to watch them searching for food and cuddling their young right outside my windows. My guide, Ebs, was incredible...

We spent an amazing four days at Chitabe. The flight from Maun was short and sweet. Started seeing game on the drive from the airstrip. The welcome to camp was of course melodious. The staff made us feel very much at home from the minute we arrived. The game viewing at Chitabe was quite impressive. Leopard, wild dog, cheetah, lion,...

We stayed 3 nights at Chitabe in August 2015. First kudos to Wilderness Safaris. Their camps, air service and staffs are tops and hard to beat. We had last visited the Okavngo Delta in March 1984. The camps have come a long way but the wildlife remains great. Our guide, Gordon, was guiding in the Okavango back in the 80's...

Chitabe: surrounded by painfully beautiful dead acacia trees, the bark gnawed off by elephant brutes so they die dramatically where they are. The sights of the Delta are well documented, but it was the smells that really imprinted on me during this visit. The pungent turpentine grass; the silky sage that smells, in the morning, like an elephant in musth;...

We went to four different camps on our recent trip to Botswana. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The archetypal Okavango game-viewing destination. Raised on decks on a beautiful tree island in the south-east of the Okavango, Chitabe Camp looks out across a Delta floodplain that is transformed during winter from dry rushes to lush oasis, one of only a few distinct habitats in this diverse concession. Back in camp, the thatched dining and lounge area provide beautiful views, while each tent exudes its own personality, aided by superb fine art wildlife photographs. A pool provides cool sanctuary in the heat of the day. Highlights: On this classic safari experience, game drives take in the different habitats - the variety of these ensures that there is an equal diversity of wildlife, including big game such as elephant and buffalo, but also a range of plains game species like wildebeest, tsessebe and lechwe in numbers that support healthy lion, leopard and hyaena numbers, as well as regular visits by wild dog and cheetah. The camp is composed of 8 tents: spacious en-suite Meru-type tents, individually styled; outdoor shower; double vanity basins. Experiences include: day and night game drives • guided walks (on request). ... more   less
