Personal welcome from Marcel. Rooms overlooking the gardens really well resourced and very clean with modern feel. Facilities all one could ask for, spacious and most comfortable. Food was delicious and we were very well looked after. Most gracious hosts who were attentive to all our needs and requests Gardens an interesting mix of all sorts to gain ones attention

I recently spent 2 nights at The Longhouse and it was a wonderful experience. My room was big and comfortable, with a small verandah overlooking the lovely garden, pool and distant mountains. Cheryl and Michel, along with Joseph, are wonderful hosts - full of tips and advice about the neighbouring area and where to go for best flower viewing. They...

What a charming venue and hostess! It is worth taking time to explore the gardens and buildings around this venue. The menu was small but nice choice. The food was tasty and well presented. A cosy place to whlie away the evening.

This place appears in the Greenwood Guide to South Africa. The Guide includes amongst the things it likes the following: "powerful showers, imaginative breakfasts, open fires, real coffee [and] freshly-squeezed orange juice" as well as "humorous hosts who treat their guests like friends [and] cherished gardens". We like these things too, and in our 6 night family road trip from...

We had originally booked for the Yellow Aloe but got our room in the Longhouse as the two properties belong together and have the same owners and we wanted to stay in the Longhouse in the first place as we really liked the photos and the garden. The owners were friendly and we enjoyed the big garden with a small...

This guesthouse, located in one of the oldest houses of Clanwilliam, provides peace and quiet in the bustling town of Clanwilliam. There are 5 rooms at the guesthouse. Ask for one of the four at the backside since they offer a view over the nice garden. The rooms are decorated with colonial furniture but are equipped with all modern comfort....

Thank you Cheryl and Michel for your warm hospitality and an unforgettable long weekend to the Cederberg. The breakfasts were simple but delicious, and the freshly squeezed orange juice and cappuccinos were a treat!! Packed lunches were also organised for our group and amazing mezze platters were served around the pool before dinner.

we spent two nights here. Accommodation was okay but a little tired particularly the shower room and no hanging space at all in the rooms. Breakfast was good but as another reviewer mentioned the garden view is spoilt by lines of washing each day. Would probably try elsewhere another time.

We stayed at the Longhouse and it was really nice place. To find plumbing like this in this part of the world is a real plus point. This is probably the best place in Clanwilliam by a country mile. The gardens are great, it is clean and very European in style. However, there are a couple of issues that readers...

My daughter and I spent a night at The Longhouse in Clanwilliam. Cheryl, the owner, was so welcoming and informative and made us feel truly at home. Our room was very comfortable with a lovely view. The staff were friendly and efficient. There was no power on Sunday but you would not have known as the breakfast was first class,...
