On our way to the Cape Argus cycle race we stopped in the quaint town of Calitzdorp. We delightedly were awarded the last available room at this establishment. Our room was well presented and we were pleased to be there. However, not wanting to leave a VERY expensive racing bike outside I "attempted" to bring it inside to store safely...

Locating the place is easy enough and surprise surprise the parking and entrance is around the back. Vines cover the parking lot and the entrance into the establishment. Say hello to Pierre who runs the place with his wife Marina. He has a great sense of humour and is knowledgeable on the surrounding area. The place is warm and cozy...

My wife and I recently stayed at this spacious and well-maintained guesthouse which dates from 1830 and has quite a sense of history about it. We found it comfortable, with a lovely swimming pool area, good food and a charming host, Pierre. It was very reasonably priced and is to be recommended.

We were pleasantly received by Pierre. We had requested a room with twin beds. The room was street facing but we thought that it would be quiet so accepted the room. We should have asked about traffic. The room did not have air-conditioning but did have a fan. It was hot and humid so we needed to have the window...

We spent a lovely afternoon and night there in Dec 2016. Personal touches abound, e.g. free port in the bedroom. Breakfast is excellent and all in all the ambience is great. We recommend this guesthouse without reserve!

Owner run, there is no compromise on service. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated. We had use of the pool which is situated in a garden full of beautiful plants and trees. The breakfast is not to be missed.

We have been fortunate to stay here previously, and it was great to be welcomed back. Everything was as before, which is not always a good thing, so it can feel a bit dated, and the bed still creaks, but the service which we received more than made up for it. Even though it was quite when we were there,...

A traditional Dutch style house with welcoming hosts. Short easy walk to 2 or 3 wine tasting places and an excellent breakfast. The rooms were quite plain but fine and the beds were pretty firm. Port was provided on the rooms, a nice touch.

Superb location , watched the sun set over the mountains and vineyards from the big old fashioned "stoep" . Excellent service and attention to detail by our host. Roaring fire in the lounge to welcome us home after dinner setting the scene for a cozy after dinner local port . Comfortable warm bed and room . Great stay .
