I find it difficult to do nothing when I am on holiday. At Soeterus Guest Farm I forced myself to do exactly that and it was great. A swim early morning. After that a really nice breakfast. The rest of the day, lying next to the pool or sitting on the patio next to my room. I bought some books...

This is our second visit to this guesthouse located around a kilometre from the Karoo town of Calitzdorp. Located in a rural setting with a friendly host Soeterus offers comfortable accommodation with a good breakfast included. The only drawback was that both rooms were without air conditioning and inadequate ventilation that made sleeping difficult on a very hot night.

Stopped here en route from cape town to addo. Almost exactly halfway. A beautiful setting with lovely accommodation and pool. The rooms are spacious, welcoming with comfortable beds and a decanter of delicious local port to round off the day. James-lee was a welcoming host and coped admirably with a power cut in the middle of the night, rearranging an...

We stopped at Calitzdorp on our drive back home. Booked into Soeterus and where delighted with the accommodation and very friendly service from our host. Definitely a good choice for our stop. Also found the town of Calitzdorp very friendly and everyone welcomes you.

We decided to return to the Kleine Karoo after a very pleasant stay in Prince Albert. I checked on availabilities and got in touch with Soeterus. Yes, there was a room for two and sure, we were very welcome. We booked two nights but were so overwhelmed by the place, the quiet environment, the perfect service and the village that...

The owners very nice, the area blissful. The breakfast plain but very nice setting. the farm is out of town so not good for late night arrival, doesn't serve dinners. The rooms nicely decorated, just very small and cold(in winter time).Anyway the place has a nice atmosphere.

We stayed for 2 nights on the way from E Cape to Cape Town via R62 (which in itself is well recommended vs the N2 Garden Route if you've done that route often). The road is in good condition, it's quiet and beautiful. The new owners (recently moved from Joburg) were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they were...

This is a really lovely spot and will be even nicer in spring when it'll be surrounded by fields of blossom. The owners are so friendly - they added every possible personal touch. There's a nice communal lounge to chill out in and the rooms are well-appointed. The pet sheep are particularly sweet.
