The perfect place for a stopover. Just far enough from the R62 to be out of the traffic noise but close enough to get there easily. A friendly welcome and exceptional nicely furnished room with space enough. We dearly liked it and will stop there again next time. Only no breakfast, but there are enough eating places around.

Wonderful food including very tasty vegetarian dish The owner was super nice and although he was full due to local night he set for us a table outside after he saw we were very disappointed. The ruti was very nice and so was the Karoo lamb.

Very spacious accomodation with ample sleeping space and very friendly hosts. It was a freezing winter's night, but we had good warm bedding and electric blankets, which were life savers. On demand hot water ensured hot showers for all! Lovely stay overall and we will return for sure!

We were impressed by the warm reception from Johan and Thera who even called when we were later than expected to check if we were travelling safely. Electric blankets and some milk in the fridge so we could make tea. Good value for money and ideal stopover on our trip.

A friendly and warm welcome. Very kind, helpful and courteous hosts. Although the weather was cold, the hospitality was very warm. The rooms were chilly despite the wall heaters, but that was a consequence of the unusually cold weather. Highly recommended.

This was our first stay over in Barrydale. On several previous occasions we had just passed through. We now realise that those times were wasted opportunities. Johan proved to be an amicable and warm host and made us feel like we were his house guests. We will definitely return to Barrydale and to Sandy's Place

Very good rooms with space, well enough equipped for a few day's stay. Clean and neat, well decorated. I absolutely prefer this to a cramped room as too many guest houses are just renting out a small room, with a breakfast and the ask high prices for it. I love this place and town, people and owners are friendly and... More

The rooms were very clean & had everything we needed in them for self catering. Very comfortable double bed. Good view of Barrydale. Easy to walk from there to explore Barrydale. Hosts friendly but left us in peace which is what we wanted.

We had a very nice stay at Sandy's place. We had a very friendly welcome by Sterna, the owner. She made us felt at home. We stayed in the big house. The house is very neat and comfortable. It fulfilled in all our needs. Thank you very much.

Situated on the quiet side of Barrydale in a safe area. Rooms are large and has a sizeable kitchenette with all cutlery and crockery. The stoep is large and has a table, chairs, sun umbrella, braai and firewood supplied. Nice private parking. Bathroom was adequate.
