We stayed here for a night on a golf tour. The venue is very nice but trucks come through Dullstroom and Auldstone is at the foot of a small hill so the trucks can make the rooms shake from the noise. If you want somewhere peaceful this is probably not the correct place for you as you have the trucks... More

Had a cosy evening in suite #2. Fireplace in our room worked well and the beds were really comfortable. As some other reviewers noted, traffic noise could wake up the really light sleeper from around 5am. Would stay there again as its a reasonably priced overnight lodging.

If you want to be in town, try the Auldstone house. Accommodation is clean, white fluffy linen. Modern room with neat modern furniture. Fireplace to take the chill off the room. Views good from rooms, but is on main road, so that is part of the view.

Stayed in suite 3, was self catering unit with lounge. (Note: these are rooms above shops) Unit was very nice, clean & well maintained/serviced, with secure parking. Very close to restaurants & everything else. Had a very nice stay. Only con was a little noisy with main road traffic.

I was hoping to give this establishment a better review but there are a couple of things I have to share which you wouldn't know until you get there. The suites are clean and tidy! however, there was a storm on Saturday night which lowered the temperature to quite cool and we weren't left with a single match to light... More

Wow! You really had a bad experience. Let me start by apologising for the empty match box. The cleaner lady has been severely reprimanded, and we will in future ensure that at least two boxes of matches are placed in each room. 'The suites being right up against each other' - this is very common in many accommodation venues, such... More

Its adjacent to the main road passing through Dullstroom. Thus with windows open road is a bit noisy, bath too small and could do with a shower, but its clean and good value. Very nice whiskey pub on premises too. Bed was comfy and linen white, clean and fresh. Secure shaded parking also good.

Every single person I dealt with was efficient and friendly. The fireplace and underfloor heating made for lovely nights in front of the fire with a glass of wine. I will definitely recommend Auldstone house for couples as well as families. It is value for money and the whisky bar downstairs is awesome! The only part I did not like... More

For anyone traveling through SA on a trip through Dullstroom on route to Kruger park I would highly recommend Auldstone House. Your value for money is exceptional with friendly staff and a very clean and comfy room. We had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend stay at Auldstone. Thank you to all the staff concerned.

We just LOVE this place. It has everything we are looking for in a self catering accommodation place. Especially for the Dullstroom winters, a fireplace, underfloor heating in kitchen & bedroom, wall mounted heater in bathroom, DSTV to snuggle up in front of on the cold nights. It also has an awesome & friendly staff that keep the place in... More
