We really enjoyed the relaxing weekend at Kosi Forest Lodge. The activities were a great and unexpected treat, as we enjoyed kanoeing, forest walks and a boat trip with really friendly guides from the lodge

A magical place. Far from civilization but close to paradise. Blessing welcomed us with a big smile and a contagious laid back attitude. Outstanding staff and great trips to the lakes (fishing, hippos), the Indian Ocean (swimming, snorkeling, turtles), to the local sangoma, ... Just wonderful.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. I love your comment "far from civilisation but close to paradise" sounds like a line we should be using in our marketing material. Glad you had such a magical stay and we hope to see you again in the not so distant future.

My wife and I spent a long weekend at Kosi Forest Lodge at the end of November 2016. The weekend was wonderfully relaxing with the helpful and dedicated staff. The meals were delicious and the activities very enjoyable. We would happily recommend Kosi Forest Lodge to anyone wanting to enjoy some downtime with friends or family.

Our family stayed two nights at Kosi Forest. We loved it for the location deep in the bush and the feeling of remoteness. There are only a handful of rooms and they are thoughtfully positioned for maximum privacy. Staff were very good and the service was always friendly. The food was fine but not great. (We went on to Thonga...

It could have been a really nice place. The surroundings are beautiful. The lodges are in a nice bushy area with monkeys walking around. The ingredients are there, but unfortunately the execution is not what to be expected. The bathrooms are besides dirty (and don't blame the geckos) really up for renovation. The smell of the water coming from the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Kosi Forest Lodge is a 16 bed lodge fenced into the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, an internationally recognised World Heritage Site. We provide a snug and intimate base from which guests can explore this extraordinary area of splendour and diversity, or relax surrounded by incredible natural beauty. The lounge, dining room and bar extend into a large, wooden deck built in the shade of an enormous Zulu Podberry tree, and we take full advantage of Maputuland’s sultry weather with most meals served alfresco on the deck or sheltered beneath large Albizia trees. We have carefully positioned the thatched bush suites in the sand forest for privacy and peace under the canopy of shady trees. Low wooden bedroom walls with mosquito netting and roll-up canvas blinds allow for maximum views of the surrounding forest, and arguably the lodge’s most popular feature is the romantic, open air, en-suite bathroom set in white beach sand and enclosed by a reed boma. ... more   less
