Sipapu Ski Area is the little ski area that could . . . . that could, that is, be just the place for you if you're visiting Taos, New Mexico on a ski trip and find that Taos Ski Area is a bit overwhelming. Sipapu, about 20 miles from Taos, is a small, family-friendly ski area with all kinds of... More

Had reservations for 3 nights but left after 2nd night because of the horrible rooms and service. I'm not very picky about our rooms and don't need all the fancy amenities but we reserved a bunk room so we could have frig and microwave but they "upgraded" to a lodge room which they said was better. Well, no frig and... More

Angela, I sincerely apologize for your experience at Sipapu. We strive to be the most family-friendly, family fun resort in the Rockies, and I am sorry we missed the mark. Stayed at the hotel last Friday and Saturday nights for a ski weekend. Tried the ski and stay package for Friday night. Room and lift ticket for $44. Sweet deal. Pet friendly for just $20 extra. They charge $20 for the stay not per night. Rooms were average but the rate for both nights was $39 each. Not bad. Heads... More

The mountain may not be the biggest, but they are always improving. They just finished their first quad, can't wait to ride it. Good place for all levels of ski/boarders. The easy way down from the top, is exactly that, easy. The blues are nice and wide, a little short, but since you don't have to wait in a lift... More

My wife and I got married at Sipapu back in January of 2010. We have been returning off and on for anniversaries ever since. We love this place. All you have to do is book in advance. It can be pricey during the holidays or holiday weekends but we generally avoid those dates and stay for a complete bargain. This... More

We enjoyed 2 nights at the "adobe house" overlooking the valley and Sipapu property. This casa is gorgeous and has been recently updated. Plenty of room to relax, play games that we borrowed from the office, and enjoy each other's company. We slept really well and the case has room for 10. We loved the walk along the river with... Was riding with a motorcycle group through the area and stopped in for lunch. Food was bland and greasy. A friend had the Sipa burger and said it wasn't bad but avoid the Frito pie and fried mushrooms. Property is in a very nice location and although we didn't stay there the lodge seemed nice.

Sipapu is a wonderful and cheap way to enjoy summer in NM with your family. Low key summer stay accommodations in a cabin, bunk house, lodge or campsite with complementary fishing in the stocked pond. Sipapu also boasts a disc golf course and entertainment at the lodge some nights during the summer. Best to BYOB as it is overpriced if... More

This was a great 4 day stay for our family. Our children nearly had a heart attack when there was no television and no wifi, but they moved on quickly.
