We were referred to this restaurant by our hotel owners, and what a great meal with excellent service! The place was very cozy, the food was delicious, and the service was on point. The sopapillas were the icing on the cake. The place serves a variety of food, offers bar service, and stays open till 10pm. You can find this...

We'd stayed at the Route 66 motel on our way through and didn't like it, so we were looking for something else on the way back. Came across this little gem on the west end of town. It needs some updating, but it has a new owner and they seem to be working on that. The room was clean and...

Other than the convenience of having a nice lounge & restaurant with the motel, the layout of the property is unique. Rooms have entry from the parking lot AND back door to an open court in the middle of the property. Pool is not operational. Rooms were very clean, bed was comfortable and everything worked. I like the personality of...

I travel thru Tucumcari a few times throughout the year. I have had my eye on this place. Noticing the fixing up that's been going on. Last night I decided to push on thru Amarillo, and have a nice genuine Route 66 motel to round off my trip up north. I came around 10:30. Nobody was in the office, so...

A painted mural welcomed us to the "historic Lizard Lounge and Pow Wow Inn." A couple of very nice girls tried to help at the desk. I later learned that this was their first day and they had about 20 minutes of training before the manager left them on their own. Apparently the day clerk neglected to note that the...

The location is good in that it's next to The Pow Wow Inn which has a bar and a reasonably good restaurant. The rooms were spacious and seemed to be clean. The beds were comfortable and coffee making facilities were available in the room.

Got into town late and the Blue Swallow was full. Found this place and it's not bad. I did find it funny we got the story the owners had just bought it three months ago and were working hard to fix it up. LOL but I see the same thing from reviews a year ago. The place is a bit...

Tspical small town dinner venue with mexican and steak meals. Decor is very 60s kitsch and includes a ridiculous talking alligator. Booths on the wall have a life size person painted on the wall so it looks like you have company at the table. Meals areOK. Unfortunately the attached motel is no longer operating.

Knowing a little history of the motel, it did get "run down" some but the new owner, Tammy is quickly turning things around and working hard to restore this great old place back to its original glory. She has only had it three months and has done wonders in that short amount of time. The rooms have been repainted in...

This was the second time in the last month we have came down to visit family and we stayed here. It's recently under new management and they have really cleaned and put a lot of work into this place. Overall it was a very comfortable and pleasent stay. And the courtyard is just beautiful!!

“The parking for our room was in the deserted looking back of the property. When we first arrived 2 drunk men advised us that our truck & trailer had better be locked up because their vehicle got broken into during another stay at this property. Of course this had us up and checking on the vehicle several times during the night. Since all rooms also open to the center courtyard, I would recommend parking to the side or front of the building, even though we didn't have any problems.”
