A fantastic place to stay the night. The fantastic staff walk you to your room So clean, we just melted into the comfortable bed. We will stay again. Dels is a wonderful close restaurant. A wonderful town to spend the night.

I found the Blue Swallow Motel through TripAdvisor and Yelp, my "go-to" reviewing sites/apps for finding the "perfect" hotel. At the top of the list in Tucumcari is a quaint, throwback motel called the Blue Swallow Motel. Sadly, we only needed the motel for a night; however, what transpired there in that one night shows the value of this place....

Great little room just as described. One of the last privately owned motels left on route 66. Not only do they pay attention to the historic details, but to all the things that make this a personal stay. Owners and their family are right there all the time - they do everything themselves and are dedicated to giving great service.

What a great motel! We stayed in the suite and it reminded me of a small replica of my grandparent's home - right down to the chenille bedspread and claw-footed bathtub. The working rotary phone was an extra delight! The owners were so friendly - they showed us our room before we ever checked-in - that just does not happen...

You must stay here. Murals in the attached garages are amazing. Original rotary phones. Good beds and linens. Friendly owners and official greeter (golden retriever). A must on a Route 66 odyssey. Good coffee and conversation in the office in the am.

Nice little roadside hotel, dating back to the glory days of Route 66. Kevin (the owner), and Max (his cat) were very hospitable, and rightly proud of this neat little inn. Period furnishings, mixed with modern conveniences make this a great place to stay.

Take a step back in time by spending a night or two in this extremely comfortable motel! The rooms are small but back in the day that's the way it was. The owners are very personable and friendly. Our room had two really comfortable beds, was very clean and was decorated in a 1950's type style. VERY COOL and we...

A gem among classic independent roadside motels, largely for the way the retro vibe has been carefully maintained but made to suit modern tastes and expectations. The rooms are small but clean and full of character. The owner-operator family is friendly, knowledgeable and responsive to guests. A great find and memorable stay on this stretch of historic Route 66.

I showed up without a reservation and they couldn't have been nicer. Room was small and cozy but perfect for just me. It was clean and comfortable. Loved the look and feel of the place. The owners suggested a place called Del's for dinner down the street which was outstanding (think Wisconsin supper club). Would stay here again, it was...

The Blue Swallow Inn was the best way to start our trip through the Southwest. The room was small but very comfortable and very relaxing. It is exactly as advertised - like stepping back in time when travel was through many small towns and cities. We highly recommend the Blue Swallow and Tucumcari, N.M.

BREAK THE CHAIN! Travel just a short distance away from the I-40 off-ramp to experience the best of the past, with old-fashioned hospitality that is all too rare these days. The Blue Swallow Motel is a classic Motor Court established in 1939 on historic Route 66, and one of few anywhere still operating in its original configuration. Rooms are clean and comfortable, but retain an authentic feel from the heyday of route 66 travel. Premium creature comforts including wonderful mattresses, spa-like towels, and Desert Breeze organic shampoo, soap, and lotion. Most rooms include a garage to make you feel more at home while you are on the road, and these are perfect for parking your motorcycle or classic car for the night. All rooms are non-smoking.
