Such a fun place to stay. From the Neon lights, Chenille bedspreads, to the Hudson outside the office, such a charming place to lay your head down after a long driving day. We have stayed here twice and each time was memorable. ( If the motel was a lttle closer to my home, we would stay more often). The family that...

This was our second stop at the Blue Swallow and we enjoyed it just as much this time as we did 2 years ago. We stayed at a couple of other "vintage" hotels on Route 66, and they don't come close to the Blue Swallow. Kevin and Nancy are wonderful hosts and they take good care of their property. And,...

After a bad experience at another R66 motel, we lucked into this wonderful motel and were happy it happened. BS is a step back in time, and was such a treat. We sat outside our room and met our neighbors who had garages attached to their rooms whereas ours didn't, but since we were pulling a trailer, we couldn't have...

We were traveling back from visiting kids in California, and planned our day to sleep at the Blue Swallow. We had missed it ( it was booked!) on our RT 66 trip, so we were excited to stay there . It did not disappoint! The owners were so friendly, the rooms were adorable, right does to the phone, the blue...

We always plan our trips to include a stop at the Blue Swallow Motel. Owners have become friends and we really feel welcome when we are there. We stayed 2 times recently and were not disappointed. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Owners work very hard to keep the place updated and in good working order. An old place, built...

Perfect Route 66 stop. The couple running motel are very informative of the area and are perfect hosts. Clean updated rooms, cute decorations, including the garage. Added bonus is the great coffee served in a nice big coffee mug. No styrofoam here. Good morning greetings from Obie the golden retriever is a nice added touch.

If you want a Route 66 experience, this motel is for you! We loved it. The staff gave us a tour and made us feel right at home. The other guests were friendly and you can tell this is a place to more than just sleep. Everything is vintage but very well maintained and cared for.

Best Motel of my entire trip. It was small but unique, clean and had a wonderful bed. My room had vintage railroad pictures and memorabilia which I really enjoyed. I also loved the mural in the carport of the Easy Rider gang. The family who runs the motel were very accommodating, caring and made you feel very welcome. The whole...

I couldn't believe how clean this motel was considering the age of it and the original appointments! One woman owned it for decades. We had the "family room" and it was like going back in time. Very comfortable beds, tight bathroom. The staff/current owners are family and they are very hospitable. It's straight out of the movie "Cars" Actually Tucumcari...

The Blue Swallow is one of the coolest old motels we've visited. The owners have gone above and beyond to restore this gem to its former glory. They are so friendly and even walked us around the property when we checked in. I would certainly stay here again! Clean, comfortable, one-of-a-kind place to spend the night! Don't pass it up!

BREAK THE CHAIN! Travel just a short distance away from the I-40 off-ramp to experience the best of the past, with old-fashioned hospitality that is all too rare these days. The Blue Swallow Motel is a classic Motor Court established in 1939 on historic Route 66, and one of few anywhere still operating in its original configuration. Rooms are clean and comfortable, but retain an authentic feel from the heyday of route 66 travel. Premium creature comforts including wonderful mattresses, spa-like towels, and Desert Breeze organic shampoo, soap, and lotion. Most rooms include a garage to make you feel more at home while you are on the road, and these are perfect for parking your motorcycle or classic car for the night. All rooms are non-smoking. One of the best neon displays on Route 66! Come spend a memorable night and experience the home-style hospitality of a bygone era at the Blue Swallow Motel! ... more   less
