The room was fine. It's an older place and a walk away from everything at the Plaza, just a few minutes. I stayed there because it was also a walk from the art museum Charles McPherson was playing at, an old friend of mine. It's secluded, safe and quiet. I'm not really a brea

When planning a stay in Taos this seemed like the best option for the price. Even though she did not honor the rate posted on Expedia, saying it was inaccurate, I saw the same quote advertised weeks after I made our reservation. No matter. Peggy the owner was also charging me for

We are happy that Jane H enjoyed her stay in Taos! We regret that she perceived her booking experience, making changes to the reserved dates, canceling her reservation with Inn on La Loma Plaza and booking elsewhere as unsatisfactory. However, several of her perceptions regarding Inn on La Loma Plaza are NOT accurate. Her stated reason for canceling was her misunderstanding of our check-in procedure sent to her in writing along with our cancellation and refund policy. We do NOT cut off check in at 9 PM but do ask guests who plan to arrive after 9 PM to give us a call so we can arrange for their late arrival. Her confusion concerning the rate she saw on Expedia is understandable, but it was explained to her at the time of booking that the price for the small queen room that she saw featured on EXPEDIA is our least expensive. We gave her a discount off the Expedia rate for the king room she booked, which was larger and more expensive. The rate she was charged did NOT included a dog fee, based on her assertion that her dog was a Service Dog. We follow ADA requirements regarding legitimate Service Animals. Finally, her refund was processed within the time allocated in our written policy, as indicated in her confirmation emailed to her on 9-3-18. Perhaps the next time she plans a trip to Taos she will give us the opportunity to provide her with our hospitality when she actually stays with us!

Nice quiet place. Rooms well appointed. Comfortable bed. Location is close to downtown, yet private and quiet. The breakfast was really good. The only thing you should be aware of, is there can be a lot of stairs.

Is there cross country skiing nearby during the winter months?
Yes, there are hiking and biking trials near by that are good cross country skiing, open glens in the Mtns and Enchanted Cross Country ski area near Red River about 40 minutes away! jerry

"A ground floor room. Long stairway path from parking lot to main floor."
"Stayed in "Happy Trails" room 1 night - small, but pretty darn cozy. Crank out windows were neat, décor cool, private patio."
"We stayed in a 1st floor King room with a small balcony. Our room was closest to the street but I didn't notice any noise."
"Rooms on the second floor might be wise for light sleepers because old floors upstairs can creak (may not be an elevator)."
"Carey's Studio is upstairs, not easy for managing ski stuff! We forgot about that the second time we stayed there!"
