We couldn't have hoped for anything better! The villas were very warm and comfortable and we enjoyed the open air feeling. The food was wonderful-my kids ate (and liked) things I wouldn't have imagined them trying Ina million years! Our safari guide was very knowledgeable and we saw a wide variety of animals! Would definitely recommend Motswiri to anyone

We stayed for five nights in #3, the room closest to the lodge. This room has a great view of the watering hole. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was so warm. Not forced - just like we were already (happy) family. Two game drives a day yielded so many animal experiences: lions (with cubs), elephant families, two male...

Over the past 8 years or so I have visited quite a few Wildlife Reserves in South Africa. I have enjoyed them all, but always felt that I have experienced much of what they have to offer with a single visit. This is completely not the case with Madikwe. The variation in habitats is superb and I can see this...

My husband and I went to celebrate our 28th anniversary at Motswiri - We had the most incredible time. The staff are all amazing and so helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. They take care of every detail no matter how big or small. There is so much attention to detail and they make you...

My wife and I had a great time. Great game viewing, friendly staff, delicious food - all making a fabulous stay. We stayed two nights and went on 4 (3 hour) game drives. We saw Elephants, Rhinos, Lions (twice eating fresh kill - a zebra and a buffalo), buffaloes, a leopard, zebra, giraffes, antelopes, kudus, etc. Coenie the ranger was...

I have had the privilege of staying in a number of up-market game lodges and the Motswiri Private Safari Lodge ranks amongst the most enjoyable. Our party were fortunate enough to be the only guests in the lodge, which made the stay even more private and enjoyable. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Our luxury bush villa was...

Really tasty food served in an attractive way. The rooms only have one armchair for two people and although the weather turned wet and we couldn’t sit outside on the patio, management would not provide another chair to sit indoors. Poor service considering we were there out of season with just one other couple. The wifi is limited and one...

This lodge is less than five stars, at most 4 stars. Why? any refrigerator and telephone in the room, not full inclusive (you have to buy for any drink even at the game safari). Service is not very friendly (probably better if you are fluently english spoken people) as we have felt in other game lodge and the waiters clean...

We stayed at Motswiri for four nights (8 game drives) between Christmas and New Years eve 2015. This was my second time at Madikwe and my wife's first ever safari. Madikwe is a large malaria-free (key decision factor for us) game reserve north of Johannesburg. It had a wide variety of animals to find and see - Cheetahs, Black Rhinos,...
