This founding lodge with only 9 privately situated suites features a classic-contemporary style of simple elegance that embraces the lodge's splendid setting high up on a steep bank overlooking the Great Fish More River. The colour scheme comprises a calm and natural palette of earthy tones, from khaki browns to charcoal greys.Pewter and glass add an effortless yet understated glamour to the furnishings; artefacts such as ostrich eggshells, hides and horns create subtle points of interest and relevance to the lodge's surrounds, whilst natural linens and plenty of texture preserve its simple but sophisticated atmosphere.Watch majestic kudu meander down to the river from the Lodge's expansive viewing decks, or observe playful Cape clawless otters swimming in the cool waters below from the comfort of your private balcony. Suites are spacious and feature en-suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, personal in-room bars and private decks with plunge pools overlooking the vast reserve. Less

Amazing place to visit. So lucky to see all the animals we wanted to see. The game drives are fantastic.
We highly recommended Kwandwe. The staff are amazing so welcoming and nothing is a problem. Can’t wait to go back.

Hi, Trying to decide between Kwandwe and Singita in Kruger for the second week of December. I heard Kruger is more rainy that time of year and more mosquitos. Any advice?
I chose kwandwe because of the personal service and it was amazing . I also chose it as I wanted the safari to be special and not see lots of other jeeps. Kwandwe is a massive area we saw a lot of game and rarely saw other jeeps. This was our first safari and I loved every moment of the game drives, accommodation and the staff. I hope you find this helpful.

Is there a fitness centre or gym nearby like to get in a daily workout
Hi BriKow, Thank you for your query. We do not have a gym on the reserve, however you would be able to participate in the following activities during your stay: - We offer walks with a ranger and tracker, and should you wish to view Big Game on foot (elephant, rhino, buffalo); - We have a 2km tarred runway on the reserve which is fenced (to keep the wildlife out!) and which forms a great running circuit; we will gladly take you there for a work-out. - We do have some weights, stretch bands (for resistance training) and Pilates mats for in-room exercising. I hope the above answers your questions! Kind regards, Saskia Brown Marketing Manager

Hi We are staying at the end of March , what temperatures can we expect and how much rain
Hi, March should still be fairly warm. But always quite cool on game drives in the evenings. With the whole South Africa praying for rain, hopefully their will be some bit Kwandwe set up to handle all weather conditions!!

How can I book a flight from Port Elisabeth to Kwandwe? We arrive at 2 pm from Johannesburg (and New York). Any suggestion is appreciated. Ulla Buchner
We are coming to stay with you on in a couple of weeks and can't wait it's our first safari trip. We have been told you have to safari trips out a day, am and pm. We wondered what time from and until in the morning and in the evening you go out on safari Thank you in advance Diane
Dear Diane, Thank you for contacting us, we look forward to hosting you on your first safari to Africa! Please could you let me know the dates of your visit? We vary our game drive times during the different seasons, so in the summer months we go out earlier in the mornings and in winter months we have later departures. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Saskia Saskia Brown Sales & Marketing Manager
